Commercial Description:
A traditional Marzen brewed with 2-Row Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts. The malts give it a hearty character and deep amber color. Tettnanger and Perle hops provide a well-balanced, drinkable finish prefect for Fall celebrations.

I was quite impressed with this beer actually. It had a great flavor to it, slightly sweet but not too much. the only thing that it lacked was a little bit of body. JUST not thick enough for an octoberfest beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden/copper color with a slightly off white head that disappears rather fast. Aroma is of grain and something else I can’t quite make out. Flavor is a little low. I was hoping for a more robust, full, rich flavor so I would say this is a bit of a let down but not terrible by any means. It is a good shot at a middle of the road Oktoberfest. I could see this being a transition beer for people wanting to get into Marzens.

Pours an orangeish body with a thin whtie head. Moderate malts, leaves, and raisins in the aroma. Well carbonated mouthfeel with a mildly bitter finish.

Maybe I’m crazy, and maybe it was different because I always got this beer on tap, but I always thought it was very good.

Oktoberfest are expected to have a fuller slightly more thick flavor than does the Leinie. Very just okay.

See, I really like Leinies because they show that they can make some great beers. This one however isn’t one of their better brews. Taste is bland with some light bitterness with a crisp clean finish. Just doesn’t have enough flavor. Come on Leinies, you only need one or two beers to get the bud light drinkers on your side. Wouldn’t buy again.
