The taste started pretty good but, it had a sour finish. Aroma was something like a wet blanket with a hint of citrus. Not too bad overall, somewhat of a summer beer, IMO. twindadplus2 (416), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Coppery brown color with a fizzy head that vanished fast. Watery aroma of bready malt and a bit of citrus. A sour yeast/hops taste up front and bready malt rounding it out. Short malty finish. A bit watery up front and pretty light bodied. A drinkable beer but doesn’t match up to other Marzens. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 8, 2006 From a 12 oz. twist cap brown bottle with a mug and coded freshness date above the UPC bar code, fall ’06 version.
Poured a clear copper with a foamy off-white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Aromas of sweet lager malts, lightly floral and fruity, no toastiness and only a hint of caramel malts.
Good carbonation and a very softly crisp, smooth, carbonated watery medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Very bland tasting for an Oktoberfest, sweet generic lager malts, an artificial-like fruity flavor, a light honey from the almost nonexistent hops, and a toffee flavor struggling to be tasted towards the end, just o.k. drinkability, glad I just bought a single of this.
Not one of the better Oktoberfest I’ve had, below average, also not one of Leinenkugel’s better seasonal beers.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 3, 2006 Thin watery marzen- not very "hearty" as the commercial description promises. Slightly sweet and caramely but not memorable in any way. Kinda on the watery side. On the plus side it is cheap and if you had to buy a beer to drink with a macro crowd, this is not unpleasant. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 29, 2006 Bottle: Aromas of caramel, a hint of brown sugar, and some light grassy hops. Pours a transparent golden-orange with a small white head that fades quickly. Watery caramel builds to a slightly sugary middle. Moderate grassy finish. Drinkable, but nothing special about this one.
