Nice light fleshy fruits, pears and apples in the aroma, grassy hops. Taste is more light fruits, grass, sweet pale maltiness. If this was available near me, this would be my go to cheapie. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow body with a ½ inch of humble white foam.
Smell: Lightly sweet-scented, lightly grainy maltiness, with little else to show for the aroma. Inoffensive, but certainly an underperformer.
Taste: Light pale malts with touches of grain and imparted sweetness. Faint, vague hop character and bitterness. Things slough along until the drying, clean, but, let’s face it, pretty empty finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A simple, easy-drinking lager that, while dull, thankfully doesn’t come across as packed to the hilt with adjuncts as many others do. jebert (124), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Lenies Original pours a clear golden color with a nice white head mostly dissipating. Light aroma of malt and grain. Creamy mouthfeel with a nice mild taste, mostly barley. Smooth finish. A good tasting beer. It’s no wonder that Leinies has stood the test of time. Hats off to the "Flavor of the Northwest." Great with brats, burgers or snacks. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Ugh...I’d rather have MGD...or maybe even Budweiser (and that is saying alot). Terribly skunky aroma/flavor...almost to the point of being offensive. Also quite watery. Blah. fidelis83 (732), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Pours pale, gold tinted yellow with a 2-3 finger foamy white head that has decent retention. Aroma is sweet grainy malts, planty hops, a touch of cardboard, light floral and grassy hops, musty straw and processed cereal grains. Flavor is straw, sweet grass and grain up front, a hint of stale bread, some sweet grain, mixed grain cereal flakes, finish is a sweet grain fade with a little hop bitterness and some floral notes. Palate is thin to medium thin, has a bit more body than I really would have expected, carbonation level is about right too. A really good pale lager all around. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Pours a golden color with a white head. Bready malt aroma with a hint of some hops. Flavor wasn’t really what I was expecting from the aroma. Flavor has the bready malts and floral hops but also has some yeasty qualities as well. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
