I like reds in general, and this is a good solid red beer. Nice auburn color, nice creamy head, with a taste that isn’t extreme and doesn’t seem to be striving for uniqueness or shock -- just a nice good malty red beer flavor. Not a beer I long for or run out specifically to get, but if it’s around I’ll gladly have one, and if the beer I was longing for isn’t available then I’ll gladly have one of these.

Reddish amber with a big creamy off-white head. Light aroma of mostly caramel. Smooth and creamy body with light taste of caramel and toasted malts. One of the better Leinie beers, use to be my favorite many years ago, kind of happy my mom bought it for us when we came over on Mothers day.

Pours a vibrant, clear red colour which is very attractive. Little to no head. No lacing, and like previously mentioned, while it is a nice beer, the colours to Leine’s brews are always decieving. Aroma is nutty, Taste is nutty also, a hint of cherries and strawberries in the taste.

One of the most underrated and forgotten beers from an excellent but under-appreciated brewery. Leine-Red is one of my two or three favorite beers. Orange-brown in complexion with medium head. Has a full range of hops and sweet hints, but none of the taste overpower each other. Excellent finish and great appearance. As is the case with all Leine beers, well bottled with quality. In my opinion, one of America’s best beers.

Aroma: Fruity and vinous, like an asti. On the sweet side, with a crossbreeze of citric hops. Refreshing and clean, but does have some heft to it. Appearance: Bold, bright sunset-orange; the whole beer glows even in dim light. Audibly excited bubbles race upwards into a big mishmash of a bone-colored head. Speckled lacing all the way down. Good retention. Flavor: Moderated toasty malt character, on the earthy side of fruitiness. Overall, reminds me of wheat toast with apple butter. Sweetness is offset by leafy and citric hops. Finish is a skirmish between malts and hops, with malts the ultimate victor. Palate: Very creamy, although slightly flat. Overall: Very, very drinkable, an excellent session beer. There are better Vienna lagers out there, but this is always reliable, cheap, and easy to find. People don’t give Leinie’s enough credit.

It smelled of caramel malts, poured a nice rusty red color with an off-white head. There was a very nice crisp taste to this beer that was refreshing, as well as some hops and caramels. Went down smooth and satisfying. I’ll be buying a sixer next time instead of a single. Serving type: bottle

Pours red/brown with an off white head. Caramel dominates with not much else. Decent drinker though.

Poured a reddish brown color with a long lasting head. Aroma was both tart and caramel. Flavor was hoppier then expected, citrus hops and lemon bite to it Carmel malts balanced it out. Nothing amazing but still good.
