| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 3, 2007 This is not a very good beer. Pour was a flat and boring dark amber with no head. Aroma of stale malt and bread. Taste was sharply carbonated to the point that it burned your tonsils (for those who have them) after the swallow. Some burnt malt with a semi dry finish. Not much flavor and not very memorable. AgedOak (74), Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 29, 2007 This is a beer I have enjoyed many times before but have never rated. A see-through brownish red with a medium light brown head. The head remains throughout with nice lacing. Like most reds, it has a very pleasant aroma, with hints of toasted malt and very pleasant spices. Very smooth with sweet malt flavors with a hint of toasted grain and caramel. This is one of my favorites in the easy to find beer catagory. I believe it may be rated a little low, but I like reds. jarlbartar (88), Janesville, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Poured a transparent copper with a medium head and left good lacing. Aromas of lightly roasted malts and spices like clove. Taste of sweet roast malt, light mouthfeel. Aftertaste was kind of earthy but cleaned up quickly. Not too bad, one of their better beers. modalnails (43), boulder, Colorado, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Poured a sort of dull brown with some copper highlights. The head was barely off-white and about two-fingers tall. Minimal lacing. The aroma was weird, almost dusty. Like an old book. Some roasted malt in there. The flavor was a relatively dry malt with very little sweetness. The finish meandered about, not really knowing where to go. What a non-event this one was. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Pours from the bottle to a orange-amber color with thin head that dissipated qquickly and leaves little lavcing. Both the aroma and flavor are muted, though I could detect a little hoppiness in the mouthfeel.
Like others I’ve had from Leiny, this is a good session beer, but not one to just sit and enjoy. jhwarfield (123), USA

Nice alternative to other mainstream options, but not ale quality. Pours redish brown with small white head. Nice hops flavor.
