A good sweet malt flavor without much bitter but some. Not a bad beer at all. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 19, 2006 The 12 ounce bottle poured a crystal clear reddish amber beverage with a medium sized off-white frothy head that was mostly diminishing and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was quite subtle. There was just a hint of sweet caramel roasted malts accompanied by the light sweet fruitiness of pear. The body was light to medium with active carbonation and a light, crisp somewhat watery texture. The flavor started off slightly on the sweet side. At the finish it it had turned lightly bitter. The finish was medium-long in duration. bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Medium-amber pour with a medium head, no real retention. The nose is of candied citrus fruit and slight copper. There is a caramel effervescence with tartness, some copper... finishing with a slightly less-than-complex biscuity-hopped back. Feels a little lighter than expected, with a crisp, quick finish. It feels a bit unilateral overall, lacking in huge depth and complexity. Headbanger (1595), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2006 12oz bottle-An aroma of malt and sweetness on a dark red body with a head that dissipated rather quickly. A taste of malt that grows stronger towards the back end. A pretty decent red. Quixote18 (230), Johnson City, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2006 Bottle. The aroma was primarily sweet & slightly biscuity malt that seemed to get progressively more malty as it warmed. The color was amber-red, with a medium- lasting off-white head. The body was medium to light and was crisp from being a little overcarbonated. Nothing outstanding, but well-balanced and refreshing. This is a situation where the whole is much better than the sum of the parts. eaglefan538 (2394), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2006 Amber red color looked great. This Leinie is definitely better than a Killian’s, but still has an American Macro feel to it. Worth drinking, decent flavor, and fairly smooth, but there are better reds out there. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2006 Pours a nice dark red color. Like with most of the Leinies beer it could be stronger. But overall a pretty good beer. sfontain (506), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2006 Pours a dark reddish-brown color with a small, white, rocky head. Aroma is bland and sugary like the other Leinies I’ve had so far (Original and Honey Weiss); this has a touch more maltyness in the nose and a touch of caramel. Flavor has the caramel and barely the malt, along with a light sourness in the middle; more bitterness in the finish than the others, but still hardly any. Medium body. Not bad for the style, and one of the better Leinenkugels beers, but that’s not saying much.
