Substantial mouthfeel for an American "red" lager. Has a sweet malty aroma, pretty clean. Carmamelly malt flavors with some hop spiciness present. Seems a little young, like it neede to lager more for the flavors to blend and mellow. Mixed 50/50 with an Amber Light, it turned into a very good swiller. Try this, I swear it works. Mouthfeel was too much on the syruppy side....alright I guess. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 20, 2004 Bottle from Kevin42. Good color, small head. Taste is sweet and spicy. First taste notes are melon and corriander. Secondary notes of malt and citrus come through. Not a bad beer at all. Complex yet simple. Nice, but not mind blowing. Kevin (1920), Colorado, USA

This was the first chance that I had to actually try the beer - so I had been curious for quite some time. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle the beer poured a nice red-amber color with a small tan head. The aroma while faint was pleasantly malty. The flavor was crisp and light with definite malty undertones. There was a bit of an off sour tang on the aftertaste. It was a little yeasty and bready. Not bad really. A decent quaffable red. mohawksin (187), Nebraska, USA
