It looks like beer, but that’s where the similarities stop. Aroma is of citrus. Taste is like carbonated lemonade. Surprisingly, this is not as awful as it sounds. Better body than expected. This is a rather common drink in Germany (and other parts of Europe). I would say this beer is on par with some of the better examples of this bunch. RIXbeer (102), USA

It really does look like lemonade with beer foam. Smells like someone dumped lemonade into Miller Lite. That’s it’s no great smell here. Cheap lemonade with beer. I guess that’s ok since that’s what a SHANDY really is. I wish it was 100 degrees out so this beer didn’t taste so infested with bad lemonade. Since it’s not I’m not sure which offends me more the lemon pledge lemonade or the beer it’s sitting in. Now if it were 100 degrees I would really appreciate what this beer stands for. Since I’ve had it many times on a super hot day, this beer gets a pass from me at this moment. Very smooth and easy to drink. Lemonade does bring back those thoughts of being a little kid and having a lemonade outside in the backyard on a hot summer day. Now that I’m an adult, I can appreciate the beer in there so I can have some alcohol without drinking vodka. Sh!t man you can drink these like water on a hot day! Today it’s a little cooler and it’s still really easy to drink [as I finish what’s left in my glass]. I recommend this beer very cold on a very hot day! doubelknv3 (568), Illinois, USA

Pale straw cloudy with quickly disappearing head. Lemon and wheat notes dominate the flavour. Very tart, with a carbonated sour finish. crazydeb8r (3), Columbus, Ohio, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2007 As a shandy, not terrible. For those unfamiliar with the term shandy, it generally refers to lemonade mixed 50/50 with beer, but bottled shandy is usually much less beer. This is clearly only about 50/50-70/30. There is still some beer in here, and that’s good.
Pours a cloudy golden yellow, and stays cloudy. No real head. The aroma is lemony, as one would expect. Too sweet compared to the shandy I had last (In Bodrum, Turkey... Efes Pilsen and some homemade lemonade). The flavor reflects the aroma, just as one would expect. Mostly lemon, with some wheatiness following the lemon. The real problem is the carbonation. A shandy ought to be lightly carbonated, since the lemonade waters down the beer. This is very carbonated, and almost hurts to drink due to the bubbles. Yeah, I like me some flat beer.
Drink it cold, it goes down really smooth. GREAT after a hot day, and can be drank right from the bottle with no problems. modalnails (43), boulder, Colorado, USA

| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jul 18, 2007 [Bottle] Pours cloudy golden with a medium white head. Lemon is dominant in the aroma with a little wheat. The lemon smells exactly like some super-cheap artificial lemonade mix that I mistook for real lemonade once--uncanny really, but it isn’t good. The taste is strongly lemon (again, same as that lemonade mix, just weaker) followed by a strange wheaty taste. The tastes are unbalanced, unpleasant, and do not mesh well. Not my favorite Leines. Smell is light w/ some lemon rind w/ some light malts, pour is a corn like yellow w/ a full white head. Flavor is decent, goes real well w/ a warm day.
