jlf278 (250), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Weird blueberry and mild vomit aroma. Not so bad. Looks pretty good, thick white head, typical wheat haze pale color. Tastes a little bit of blueberry with some citric acid and normal wheaty goodness. Palate is medium body and smooth. Overall, not bad, but definitely nothing special. davidlm85 (4), USA does not count Oct 22, 2007 nose is weak. cloudy orange color. taste and palate where more like orange soda that beer. i liked it but it wasn’t a great beer. it was better than a sunkist though ShawnMalloy (119), Auburn, Massachusetts, USA Oct 21, 2007 Updated: Oct 23, 2007"Barney, my Kugel’s!" It’s as if Leinen Kugel’s added a box of Fruity Pebbles into their brewing process... I’d say this "wheat ale" is best consumed in the warm Summer heat as it is light, and sweet and very easy to drink. The cloudy orange body will almost have you considering drinking it via straw. Heck, I’ve even considered substituting it for milk in my cereal bowl on some mornings. Overall it’s a nice refreshing brew but in the long run fails to compete with other wheat based beverages. Consider this one as more of a soda like beverage than an actual beer. edden (927), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Oct 20, 2007 10/15/07: Bottle. Cloudy tan-orange body with a thick almond colored head. Plenty of lace. Fruity, berry like nose with some wheat. Flavors include berry, lemon and wheat. Wheat bite finish. TheBeerBaron (218), Florida, USA Oct 20, 2007 Cloudy straw yellow, big white head from a shaken bottom bottle pour. No carbonation bubbles. Sweet lemon and flowery aroma like a meriengue pie - delicious! Flat and extremely light mouthfeel, dissapointing considering the liveliness associated with this style. Flavor is somewhate soapy and watery - its like this beer expects you to add a lemon or orange slice to provide your own flavor to a predominately blank portrait. There are plenty of other wheat beers that bring the flavor with them. Seek them out instead of Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat. osven (1), Allerød, Denmark does not count Oct 18, 2007 Who the f.... pured orange juice in my beer was my first thought. This is the American donut edition of the Belgian Wit. The taste and smell is filled with this artificial orange. In two words: Try again! shakespeare33 (120), san diego, California, USA Oct 14, 2007 12 oz bottle in cali....this is a wheat by name only.. The aroma coincides with the name but the alikeness stops there. too too too much fruit on the back end(especially orange) and it overshadows the pop and drowns the palate. not a favorite but my girlfriend liked it eaglefan538 (2351), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Oct 12, 2007 Poured from bottle. Aroma was strong floral notes, some wheaty aspects. The flavor was strong floral notes, some American wheat type character to it, followed by faint spicing, grains of paradise? Overall nothing to write home about and I didn’t want more than one for sure!
