WSSmiles (124), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 16, 2007 not so good. Had a flavor of jelly beans totally nasty. Might be the worst beer Ive tasted biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Aug 16, 2007 The question is... is this better than Blue Moon. After one taste, I say yes, I like it more, but the battle rages on, and BM shall not be defeated so easily. Pwn3d (1040), Manhattan, New York, USA Aug 16, 2007 Updated: May 1, 2008This is a pretty badass beer. A gift from JRedmond for my birthday. It is extremely flavorful (blueberry/orange). The taste seems a bit artifical though, maybe due to its robustness. I would get this again. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Aug 16, 2007 Draught at 311. Decent looking wheat, golden/straw. Aroma of blueberry and bubblegum. Initially not bad, it gets bad quick. Straight up blueberry waffles. Some citrus. Way to syrupy and sweet. mike mcneil (660), St Augustine, Florida, USA Aug 15, 2007 Had on tap at a beer tent at the recent music fest in Bethlehem, PA. Pours a cloudy amber-orange color producing a thin, small bubbled white head. Nose is fruity sweet with huge notes of orange juice, vanilla cream, crushed berries, perfume and ground wheat. Very different and unique aroma profile here for sure. Mouthfeel was smooth and refreshing but slightly thin and watery as you swallow. Taste very similar to the aromas but not as distractingly perfumey. Refreshingly sweet creamsicle, fresh squeezed orange juice, blueberry, heavy cream and some coriander and pepper come through. Finish is a bit thin and quick but a nice thirst quencher on a hot day. schoolofspool (24), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2007 Updated: Jul 6, 2008I work for a beverage distributor and have been eyeing up this case for awhile, partially because I enjoy pronouncing the name (it’s a good strong "woody" word as the late Graham Chapman would say). Anyways I finally brought one home this past Sunday. Being that we don’t keep Sunset Wheat in the cold box and the fact that I would be spending the rest of the afternoon in Center City I bought a warm case. So I’m walking by a pub and it was rather hot so I figure why not have a seat and quench my thirst. I notice the lever and ask him to pull the Leinies. He pours it and places it down in front of me then turns to provide an orange slice garnish. "Hold the fruit", I mutter. Looks decent behind glass, orange-tinted unfiltered haze. Fruit bowl nose, hint of wheat. Then it hits my tongue. "What’s that flavor?", I ask myself aloud. "Hmm, maybe I’ll stay for two.", I think to myself. So I flip through my PhillyWeekly and indulge in another all the while wondering what that familiar flavor that I can’t quite nail down is. Oh medium-light mouthfeel, a little spicy, lively CO2, with an artificial fruit finish. Fast forward to me at home waiting for my bottles to cool off telling my roommate he’s going really going to enjoy what I brought home (he’s a big fan of fruity wheats). He takes a sip and says, "What is that? I know that taste." I exlaim how I’ve been stuck on the same thing since my mid-afternoon pallette wash.
He takes another. "Fred Flintstone".
"Fruity Pebbles", I reply.
Fruity Pebbles. And that’s all you need to know. BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA Aug 15, 2007 Tap @ The Front Door in Boise, ID: Hazy orange/yellow, nice head and lacing. Nose of vanilla and orange extract, vanilla orangecicle maybe. Lightly musky wheat, artificial, albeit slightly refreshing. Nothing near a wheat beer though, more like a SHV with as much coriander as they loaded this with. neooldie (8), Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA does not count Aug 14, 2007 My dark horse favorite beer. I can not get enough of this. It has all the right flavors to make for such an enjoyable experience. Add an orange and I think I found what Heaven is like.
BRAVO!
