Also smell of flowers and kool-aid. Tastes sweet and some grain. Little bitter at the end. Its actually really good. It tastes like blue moon ice cream. Good beer for the lady in your life. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Poured from the tap to a carbonanted golden color with hint of orange, true to it’s "sunset" name. Had a medium white head that lingered shortly and left okay lacing. Aroma was very strong of orange and apricot, with a hint of wheat. While this was pleasing at first, it became too much throughout the beer. Flavor followed suit. The initial taste was pleasant citrus, but very quickly became a mixture of kid’s cereals, popsicles, and a taste that reminded me of children’s liquid antibiotics I had years ago. Finish was a super-sweet aftertaste that was did not remind me of having a beer at all.
This beer started out promising, but turned to disappointment quickly. BlackForestCO (831), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 26, 2009 Bottle. Poured a lightly hazy orange color with a moderate white head that faded to a layer. Sweet aroma with hints of fruit (mainly sweet citrus, like orange flesh) and a light spiciness (coriander). Smooth, sweet entry with noticeable fruit right away (orange flesh, almost an artificial berry) carries into the middle with some faint wheat notes and a light coriander spice that follows into a bit of a watery finish. Moderate carbonation and average mouth feel, although it does end thin. Overall, an overly-sweet wheat beer that tends to distract from the point of the beer: the wheat. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2009 [Bottle] Pours hazy orange with a nice lingering white head. Aroma is quite sweet (a little too much at times), with a lot of spices--clove, coriander, also some banana, orange and some very faint breadiness. Taste isn’t quite as good, with light bitterness, a lot of wheat, and very light notes of fruit. Medium-light mouthfeel, somewhat dry finish that lasts quite awhile. Overall, even though the taste doesn’t live up to the aroma, it is still an ok beer. Not something that I would buy a lot of, but it is drinkable, and one of the better Leinenkugel’s products that I have had. Cybercat (824), Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Aroma is malty with a wheaty undertone, and hints of orange. Color is warmly golden and somewhat cloudy. Flavor is rich, rather malty with strong orange tone, rather sweet but not cloying, just a whisper of smokiness. It has a nice thick feel that I do not often find in wheat beers, and leaves a pleasant and satisfying aftertaste. Better than what I expected! keepersj12 (821), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2007 This is one of those love it / hate it types. I had this on tap served with a wedge of orange. That usually kills it for me but this was different somehow. A black licorice flavor poked threw and by the end of the glass, I was hooked. Please don’t tell anyone. Birdiebeagle (815), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Bottle Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. Has a nice aroma of citrus fruits and wheat. A little on the lighter side but still refreshing. Smooth and lacking bitterness. A crisp and clean finish. Overall a pretty decent beer. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA
