Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy dark yellow, unfiltered.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with strong notes of orange candy and coriander, light note of detergent.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
A coriander-bomb, and then some. Yow. I love coriander seed (and its leaves, aka cilantro) and use them both frequently in cooking, but holy cow...that’s about all you get here. Wayyyyyyyy overspiced. Closer to soda-pop than beer. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2006 12x12 ounce bottles consumed from late July through late August 2006. Cloudy light gold in the glass with a small diminishing fluffy head and a bit of lacing.....blueberry dominates, oh my how it dominates the aroma, with cranberry and lemonjuice also present and always a fine sour wheat malt underpinning....I’m stunned that this isn’t listed as a fruit beer, it’s so overwhelmingly berry-scented....but when you get to the taste, the fruit definitely doesn’t stick around except in a subtle, background way as it softens the strong sour lemongrass-spicy character of the body....super-fresh and clean, immensely quaffable by the bottle or 6-pack, this was one of my biggest summer surprises, truly a well-made special from an otherwise fairly mediocre pseudo-micro. Get it if you still can. bhensonb (4392), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Aroma, I swear, is of anise. Maybe with a bit of orange. Hazy orange tinged gold color with a white head that ringed with tatters of lace. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Orange citrus flavor, orange oil, but I still think there’s some anise. I don’t know what happened to the hops, but the bitter seems to come from orange oil. A pretty dry finish, and that anise note persists. If that’s what it is. Pretty amazing. New to me. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 4, 2006 Poured a very cloudy medium gold with a quickly dissapating white head. The aroma is fresh cut oranges and some hints of soap. There is also some corriander. The taste is definitely strong citrus with some hints of grapefruit rind and corriander in the finish. This is actually fairly refreshing and sweet. Like a hard orange candy. Not bad. It’s like a cross between a wit and an American wheat. BBB63 (4283), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 27, 2006 Bottle and served in my smaller Ayinger glassware: Pours a cloudy light golden hue with a lasting small fizzy head and little lace. "What the heck" was my initial reaction to the aroma followed by "Hum, not so bad" on the second attempt. A lot of coriander dominates the nose with more subdued orange peel and wheat esters. The taste followed suit with the herbal and flowery components upfront and supported weakly by some pale malt and wheat. So strong is the coriander (almost licorice-like because of the strength) that there is zero appearance of any hop bitterness. The feel is watery and thin, but I guess that is what they wanted for a summer quencher. All in all not a bad brew but something I could only handle one bottle of. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a hazy orange-ish amber brew with a thin white head that quickly dissolves and leaves behind a minimal lacing. Aroma of lemon and orange citrus, Wonder enriched bread, and a touch of coriander. Taste is slightly yeasty, light to medium bodied with lots of carbonation and citrus flavors. Finish is slightly dry with an orange zest aftertaste flavor. A pretty decent summer/autumn party brew. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 29, 2006 Bottled. Poured a hazy dull golden with a short-lived white head. Nose was powerfully sweet... candy-like with orange, lemon, and spices. Sweetness became out of hand in the flavor and palate departments... Lemonheads come to mind, backed by an orange and coriander assault. Lighter-bodied. Some sour citrus highlights and a little grainy. It would be hard to drink more than one of these at a sitting.
