I always thought leinie’s was okay back in the day, but that was before discovering the complexity of better craft brews. Plus, it’s never a good thing when a macro company (Miller) buys your out. Well, I was still interested in this as the wheat/hefe style has really grown on me. Pours a cloudy yellowish orange. Looks the part. Smell is some banana, orange, clove. I taste the orange, more than the banana, and a peppery finish. Interesting, and because of that I will give this beer its props. I would say it has some witbier qualities. Not bad, better than average, which is a good thing for Leinenkugels. GaltScat (195), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Taste is similar with tastes of orange, wheat, hops, and coriander. It finishes clean and crisp without too much carbonation. As a macro, I found Sunset Wheat to be light and refreshing. iowaherkeye (1876), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2006 Updated: Jun 11, 2009Addendum--on tap @ the Miller Brewery in Milwaukee. It smells and tastes exactly like Fruity Pebbles. I would like Fruity Pebbles for my breakfast tomorrow now. 12oz bottle, no date. Pours a cloudy dark straw with a moderate white head. Aroma of ripe oranges--almost too sweet. Tastes of ripe oranges and artificial orange flavor and then fades into a wheaty finish. Thin body, moderate carbonation. I find this beer to be in between a Blue Moon (which everyone hates) and an American Wheat (which is usually a nondescript "mah" beer). Most people I?ve talked to think this is great. Also, most people I talk to aren?t like most ratebeerians. Not too badat all. Tanker12 (130), USA

The one reason I like this so much is that it tastes a lot like the cereal fruity pebbles. Weird at first but very refreshing. after4ever (2825), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2008 Draft at Malt and Vine. This is kind of a deadly little session beer. They’re really not kidding about the oranges thing. Pours cloudy bright medium amber/orange. Dense but shallow moussy tan head. Bright citrusy, orangey nose. Creamy, ever so slightly grainy body. Nice biscuity wheaty flavors underneath a nice lightly spiced wash with sweet citrus up top. Clean, somewhat sweetish finish. This isn’t a super forceful or memorable beer but it sure would be easy to drink a bit of. blkitson (137), Westerville, Ohio, USA

It came in draft and was a murky yellowish ale with a great citrus smell. It was served with an orange slice that didn’t really do to much for it. It was very refreshing and would be a very good thirst quencher on a hot summer day. Even my wife enjoyed it. gwpom (253), Akron, New York, USA

My nose told me citrus and that’s what I tasted upon first sip. White head that vanished quickly, but a very nice smooth drink. 4.9 ABV. Leinenkugel’s has surprised me in the past (I really like their Creamy Dark), and for a long lived family brewery, I’ll take them over Yuengling any day. Drink4Satan (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
