Immy (1559), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Jan 22, 2007 C&C 750 from MJRBC. Hazy yellow gold with a huge, yellow tinged head. Yeasty wheat nose, lemon, dough and a faint spiciness. Starts out very carbonated, but settles down a bit as it warms. Light, lively mouthfeel. A sodalike spritz is noticed in the throat after each sip. Banana and lemon lead the way from the first, a bit of dough and clove follows. Light lemony wheat finish, and the clove eclipses the dough completely. One of the best I got from the club this year, thoroughly enjoyable. Well done! sneagrams3 (1402), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Dec 2, 2006 750 ml cork and cage bottle. Unfiltered and hazy golden copper hue. Thick activated bright white head. Aromas of citrus and corriander and orange from the yeasty head. Other olfactory observatios include a grassy, grainy wheaty aroma. A subtle mustiness. And a hint of cinnamon bread mixed with a peppery spice. Lively and full and thick from the dead yeast cells. Zesty and crisp. Nice and spicy. Wonderful example of a wit. As it warms, the edges become smoother and the beers rounds out its palate. Very well done! Jayb0 (690), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2006 This was excellent. The buckwheat gives it a sturdy, different, backbone of hearty grain. A lemony, fruity thread keeps it all clean and refreshing. Drink no colder than cool, it really opens up. Bierkenner (1), B 1840 Londerzeel, Belgium does not count Feb 25, 2005 One of the best beers in the world made with only biologic stuff. The name refers to the ancient railway line Aalst - Boom. aracauna (2238), Georgia, USA Jan 27, 2007 This was a surprise of a beer. Cloudy yellow with a big head. The aroma is a beautiful bubblegum and esters aroma. The flavor is nice, but the buckwheat doesn’t have the firm flavor of a normal with wheat. A nice spiciness from the yeast. I didn’t really guess this was a witbier though. Creamy body. I really dug this beer.
