thewolf (5634), Kolding, Denmark Jul 13, 2009 Bottle, bought @ Belgianshop.com.
Pours muddy dark brown with a fine, staying, creamy, off-white head. Grainy, sweet aroma with som dried fruits tartness. Rather powerful with raisins, chocolate, buckwheat and plums. Medium carbonation, a tad thin mouthfeel. Flavour is very lightly metallic, some malty sweetness and Belgian sugars. Good fruitiness. Simple beer. sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 9, 2009 bottle.

Taste, possibly some dark fruits, buckwheat; malts, brown sugar.Simple with light malts, and light bitterness of the fruits and hops. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jun 5, 2009 sample at Ale Atlanta 6/4... pours a light brown with a light tan head. weird fruit aroma - couldn’t nail it down.... sweet. medium body with lots of apple and more sweetness. Not really my style. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Apr 9, 2009 Bio... Sarrasin Brune. 33cl bottle pours dark brown, thin grayish head. Nose at first is a somewhat vegetal, like old broccoli. Pretty funky in an off-putting way. DMS or just poor spicing? That fades after a bit and then just smells overly spiced. Flavor is lightly sweetish and also lightly tart, with that vegetal/spicy backdrop. A nice dryish finish hints at what this beer might have been. Some anise in there maybe too? Uh. I don’t feel obligated to finish this one. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Feb 22, 2009 750 ml bottle via trade. Pours a very dark brown with a gray/ beige head. Nose is a bit funky and hard to describe. Funky, grainy, wheaty? Flavor is mostly toasted malt.
