ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours dark brown with a little light tan head. Aroma is mild spiced caramel malt with a mild smooth chocolate note. Light roasted malt flavour, subdued sweetness and a mild yeasty. Light malty and yeasty lingering finish.

250 ml bottle. Mahogany with a ruby red hue. Clear. Very tall fluffy light beige head. Interesting plummy and wheaty aroma. No hops to be identified. Feels a little dry in the nose, but there is still a lot of dried fruit. Some esters from Belgian yeast. Crisp carbonation. Definitely a clean hop bitterness, which nicely balances the dried fruit and leathery flavours. Medium-bodied. Nice and rounded. Clean dry hop bitterness. Different, but very nice.

Bottle 0,25l. Brown colored. Unclear. A small brown head. Aroma of plums. A bit carbonated. Weak flavor. Watery. A bit disappointing.

Bottle, at ZBF 2006. Hazy brown, good pale beige head and moderate condition. Gentle burnt malt in the nose, low fruity sweet malt in the mouth with a faint tartness and a gentle fruity finish.

250ml bottle as Boekweit Bruin/Sarasin Brune. Off-white, big foamy head over a faint hazy, mahogany body. Brown sugar, slightly roasted, supported by spicies and malts. Moderate foamy mouthfeel. Rather short tail (27.11.2007).

Enjoyed while watching Pekka Koskela breaking the world record on 1000m speed skating: 1.07,00. Hyvä Pekka! Strange brew! Sour aroma and flavour - "belgian". The roasted wheat is appealing. Interesting beer. But Pekka was even more impressive!
