250 ml bottle, as "Leireken Bio Witte Spelt / Epautre Blanche" (the word "Special" is not used), now available in Norway (Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget) - at an outrageous price. ABV is 5%. Made of organic ingredients. BB date end of 2007. Sediment in the bottle. Very pale and cloudy / milky straw coloured beer with a huge white head. Very nice wheaty, citrussy and spicy (cloves, coriander?) aroma. The flavour is distinctly spicy and wheaty with a quite rich mouthfeel, but also very refreshing. Spicy and hoppy bitter finish. An excellent beer in my book.

Bottle, 25 cl. (at Bio Planet) Taste this beer 2 times at 2006 and yesterday again. Yellow golden colour, huge white head. Aroma is lovely herby, some yeast. Medium bodied. Palate is herby with hops, the finish is malty. Good "bio" stuff.

On tap at Bier Passie Weekend, Antwerpen. Cloudy, very pale yellow with a thick white head. Fruity and spicy aroma. Nice perfumey, sweet, yet balanced wheat taste, quite spicy. Drier towards the finish. Refreshing and different.

(Bottled) Very hazy yellow color with a huge, foamy and big-bubbled head. Very strongly fruity-esthery, sweet aroma with banana, (straw)berries, spices, and - I guess - spelt. Some acidic sourness, too. Quite sharp and original flavor - like Hefeweizen on steroids. Some acidity and yeast, lots of fruit, bitterness, lemon, pepper. Medium-bodied, foamy-carbonated, neutral palate. An interesting, yet quite pleasant brew. Clearly sharper than regular wheat beers.

Bottled. Starts bubblying over the top of the bottle when opened. Hazy yellow colour, foamy and big-bubbled huge head. Foams a lot when poured. Aroma is fruity, earthy and quite vegetablyish and grassy. Flavour is spices, slight yeast, wheat and fruits. the "Hefeweizen on steroids" sayravai mentions does actually fit in quite well on this one. Much carbonation, otherwise a very nice beer.

Bottle, at ZBF 2006. Cloudy lemon gold, thin short white head and moderate condition. Pleasant sweet and spicy yeastiness with hints of wheat in the nose, quite restrained in the mouth but still sweet and spicy, brief warming spiciness in the finish.
