drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 16, 2009 I tried this a long time ago and don’t have much written down besides that it was much sweeter than I expected. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA May 30, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, orange-hued body with no more than a thin ring of white bubbles on top. Swirl - swirl - nothin’.
Smell: Sweetish, lightly bready nose with a vague estery fruit hint and touch of floral European hops.
Taste: Upfront is a sweetish, stale bready (bordering on grainy) taste. Touch of fruit. Faintly floral, lightly spicy hops, though the bitterness is a bit lacking, leaving you with a semi-dry finish and some bleak flavors lingering into the aftertaste. You’re lifeless and a tad unclean, Lemp.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Though it paired well with the Johnny Cash song "Ring of Fire", it’s not one to stand on its own really. Sadly, Lemp is one to skip. I dare say it’d even come up short when compared to some of the macro lagers. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 25, 2009

dwaggs2 (532), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice gold color with a one finger white head. Aroma is mostly malts, some grains, and yeast. Flavor is very weak. Water body, smooth easy drinking taste. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 10, 2009 Transfering from notes. Bottle, golden pour with a decient fluffy white head. Aroma of roasted malt and some mild hops. Not much hops to taste but some sweet malt. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Sep 15, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a golden color with a small white head. Aroma of grain and sweet caramel. Taste includes more hop, but barely enough to counteract the grain. High carbonation level. Not really sure what to say about this one... for a pale lager it’s not too bad. I just wonder if it tasted like this 100 years ago. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Sep 2, 2008 Tasted 8/9/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a golden hue. White head. Grainy cereal aromas. Light to medium bodied with low effervescence but bitter. Off-dry finish. Grainy yet smooth. Caramel malts. Short burst of citrus hops in the finish with a lingering acidity. Easy! mmmbeer (737), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 29, 2008 12 oz. bottle served in my stein- poured transparent lightened caramel yellow color, medium carbonation, hearty one finger head with several frog eyes and actually had some lacing (!). Aroma of wet hay, young wheat, and corn that is too wet that just is about to get some black musk on it, ugh. Hits the mouth with a high-thin body, malt is indistinguishable, has some weight in the middle but not much, finish does have more than one hop per barrel which is refreshing. While this is cleanly below session class, I wonder if the original Lemp that was brewed in St. Louis almost 100 years ago had more and better flavor. Time to get cracking on that time machine... now to take the anti-derivative of the 4th dimension...
