On Tap at the brewpub in Bakersfield. Poured a really nice looking deep orange color with a nice white head. Flavor is juicy hops with a nice almost sweet malt nose in the background. Flavor is amazing. Some really nice citrus hop kick at the front end with a little bit of pine hop thrown in for interest, but the bitterness you expect at the back of your mouth was replaced by the sweetness of the malt. There was a lot of good stuff going on in this glass. 64hophead (8), Farmington, Connecticut, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2007 This was my favorite when we used to live in B-town. I would get growlers of this all the time. It did finish a bit on the bitter side at times. It went extremely well with their firey chili with no beans. Two pints at the pub would get the job done. Lengthwise was my Sunday afternoon hangout and a great place to watch live bands on the elevated stage behind the bar. iowaherkeye (1857), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 28, 2009 On tap @ the brewpub. Clear medium orange with a 1/2 finger yellowish white head, good retention. Big grassy citrus hops and light pine hops behind, with a solid lightly sweet clean caramel malt backbone. The flavor has the caramel turning a little honeyish, with the hops otherwise staying the same. Dry finish with bitterness at a 4. Light carbonation with a medium body. Very good IPA--more of a regular IPA than a West Coast. . . riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA

Nice bitter in the West Coast style. Notes of perfume, grapefruit, and pine. A little black pepper too. unclemattie (2416), Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 18, 2003 This was a well done west coast IPA...the citric, piney hoppiness was there, but it allowed the maltiness to shine from time to time with a slightly sweet nuttiness....nice! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2006 On draught at the brewpub. Dark amber color with a thin off-white head and minimal lacing. Nice hoppy piney hops aroma, as well as some fruit. Medium-bodied with a hoppy bitter character, as well as some malt and citrus fruit for balance. The finish is bitter with more citrusy hops that linger quite some time. This is probably the best of the beers I tried.
