Orange amber colored brew with a thin tan head. Caramel and some fruit in the aroma. Maybe some English malts too. The flavor is a nice moderate sweetness with hints of fruit, caramel and English malt with an earthy floral bitterness in the finish. Fruit flavor here is apple or grape, could not decide which one. Floral/pine finish. Not just a run of the mill amber. Pretty solid.

(22 oz. bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) A good meaty amber...Pours fairly cloudy lightly reddish amber with four fingers of lightly amberish biege head. Aroma of candyish malt sweetness, almost like candy apple glaze. Mouthfeel fairly smooth with a good bit of texture for an amber. Fairly heavy foamy rings and sheets of lacing. Flavor is light sweet maltiness (caramel, vanilla) overlain by a nice assertive but not overpowering bitterness which is lightly piney. Nice bitter bite carries through to finish. Not super-hoppy so the name may be a bit deceiving. Underlying malt is maybe a bit weak but overall I enjoyed the flavor.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of IrishBoy. Slightly hazy amber golden with a creamy, yellowish head that leaves some lacework. Lightly citrusy nose. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel accents and some fruit. There’s a vague whiff of ashes also. Subdued bitterness. 191207

Bottle. [Another great tasting session @ Papsoe] Small beige fizzy head that mostly diminished. Fair lacework. Clear flat looking amber color. Grass, citrus, pine, grapefruit. Over the palate notes of sweet apricot, almost strawberry was the feel that I was picking up. Strange. Very sweet and lovely almost creamy feel. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and dry texture. Moderated sweet with good counter bitterness. Nice creamy round and sweet fruity dry finish. Very nice and extremely drinkable. 7 / 3 / 7 / 4 / 15

Pours a deep amber with a medium kakhi head that leaves minimal lacing. The nose is of brown sugar, high alpha hops (citrus), caramel and some some hints of skunkiness as I believe this one might be a tad past its prime. The flavour is of toasted caramel malt, brown sugar, and grapefruity hops with a peppery bite. The finish is very dry, almost chalky, with astringently bitter hops. The finish at one point just cuts out, leaving behind little flavour to linger on the palate. Medium-light bodied.
