Aroma of light citrus hops and minor funkiness. Initial taste has a fizzy mouthfeel with grapefruit hops and sweet toasted malts. Finishing with light bitter hops that fade quickly. Minor head retention and lacing. Medium body and dry finish. emerica56 (587), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2007 the appearance is a dark red amber with no head at all nor is their any laceing. the aroma is very hoppy and bitter with hints og grass. as you drink it there is some mild malt which makes it sweet initially and then there is a burnt bitter hoppy finish. also there are some woody dry hints mainly oak which makes the palate very dry and the palate duration is not that long. 64hophead (8), Farmington, Connecticut, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Was my 2nd favorite from Lengthwise when I used to live in Bakersfield. Not quite hoppy enough, but darn good anyway. I’m looking for this bottle here in CT. juiceisloose (678), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Courtesy mgumby10. Poured a deep amber color with a meidum sized frothy white head. The aroma was of sweet malts, candy sugar, and caramel. The flavor follwed the same with a big sweet malt profile with some fruits in there. I didn’t get much malts in there at all, so I’m not sure why they call it triple hop. It was medium bodied that went down smooth with a sweet caramel flavor left behind. This was a really nice amber, I enjoyed this one. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Courtesy irishboy. Pours a dark amber color with a medium, foamy, off white head. Smells of sweet carame malts, and sugars. Pretty appealing smell actually. The flavor was much the same, pretty sweet, big malty character, with some dark fruits, and sugars. This is really solid for an amber in my opinion. I didnt have that high of hopes, but was pleasantly surprised. Easy drinking, not much alcohol, and sweet on the tongue. Solid for the style. kp (8600), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Bottle thanks to IrishBoy. Reddish-amber color with a smallish off-white head. Aroma of floral-earthy hops, caramel, citrus, and other "earthy" scents. Taste is well-hopped with some nice earthy flavors and some caramel, sweet, & medicinal tasting malts. Nice, but this one (like most "Red" ales) doesn’t quite do it for me due to that slight medicinal flavor. Still a solid well-hopped brew. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 25, 2007 Bottle courtesy IrishBoy! Hazy deep ruby orange color, nice initial off-white head, solid retention at a thinned level that covers the entire surface, lacing mediocre. The aroma was rich, strong caramel malts, teabags, floral and pine hops, orange rinds. The flavor was really malty rich, an intense red ale, strong caramel, teabags and orange rinds, followed by a seemingly subtle floral and pine hop presence, only because the beer is so strongly malted and these dry hops (significantly present) get burried a little bit. With an ABV of only 5.X, this sucker sure is thick and heavy, lots of unfermentables, poor retention? Kinda like St. Rogue’s Red on more steroids, probably a little over the top, although it is perhaps exactly what the brewer intended? Thanks, Richard, another neat one!
