Les 3 Brasseurs Imperial Stout

clear deep brown, small head. mild sponge toffee, chocolate and coffee and hop aroma. sweet malted milk and some big roastiness, but lacking in the big smoothness I’d expect from in imperial sout. not bad.

Montreal location. Very dark brown. Roasty aroma with dark fruit. Intense roast on the palate with slight date and fig notes, hints of chocolate, coffee, nuts. Long finish with traces of hoppiness. Slight off-putting fruitiness. Somewhat thin, and though the requisite flavours are present they aren’t very cohesive.

(Montreal location) : Odd ochre highlights through the darkness...Faint malt sweetness easily overcome by green hops...Low level of roastiness or of any other malt flavor for that matter...Way too thin for the style and heavily lacking in malt, nowhere near to countering the 45 IBUs...
