Amber colour with good white head. Yeast dominate the aroma, there is also sugar present. Sweet sugary in flavour with fruits and a soft mouthfeel. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 21, 2007 Lasting off-white head covers this amber bodied French ale. Yeasty immediately and softly malty, the combination of which creates light fruity notes reminiscent of peaches and apricot. Simplistic malt profile, but soft and drinkable, not too sweet. Almost no hops chime in this pillowy ale of Belgian carbonation and medium body. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Sep 16, 2007 A Mes rate:
Bottle at LCRBM3. Amber with a decent white head. Sweet malt aroma with a little toffee. Sweet and almost sickly flavour that is a little cloying. Nutty finish. Not great. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 12, 2007 Bottle at LCRBM3. Attractive clear chestnut colour with lasting thick beige head. Lots of candy sugar, caramel, some raisins. Good easy drinking beer. skortila (2879), Bunnik, Netherlands Sep 10, 2007 3rd LCRBM. Aroma has grass, some caramel malt. Clear, copper coloured with a thin, off-white head. Taste is sweet, bit bitter, hoppy, some spice with caramel. Bit dry. No good. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 10, 2007 3rd LCRBM. Cinnamon and brown sugar in the aroma. Bittersweet, somewhat sugary and spicy flavor with cinnamon. Nutty bitter aftertaste. Somehow I’m not enthousiastic about this beer. jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Sep 10, 2007 Bottle@LCRBM. Not a very strong aroma, raisin and some spices. Amber/brown color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, spicy, bitter, sticky mouthfeel. Not bad, easy drinking, nothing complex.
