Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England Jan 31, 2008 Bottle at Chris_o’s. Dark brown, malty, sugary sweet beer with a touch of grape skins. Average.
Rastacouere (5283), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Dec 3, 2007 Burgundy reflections come across the dark brown body. Fair off-white head lasts atop it all. Earthy, caramelly and sugary nose hides a metallic component that becomes more obvious in mouth where the maltiness takes an interesting date-like twist. Rather expanding carbonation feels airy. Sweet and filling flavours with a definite liquorice reminding trait. Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 20, 2007 Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet and very malty combined with notes of caramel, as well as light notes of alcohol and spices. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, leading to a lightly bitter finish. duff (5405), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Oct 29, 2007 Bottle. Sweet, lightly caramelly start, slightly grainy mouthfeel. Some light yeastyness, and quite soft in the mouth. NOt a whole lot happening, but seems quite clean and pleasant. JorisPPattyn (4282), Antwerpen, Belgium Sep 10, 2007 Medium to good yellow head; deep amber-chestnut colour. Roasted, roasted chestnuts or oats, duckfat. Roasted taste, caramel, but not cloying; ending a bit nutty. Little sticky MF all the same, rather well-bodied. Not too sweet which is good.
