At the brewpub on tap (12 oz), the first of November 2009. Honey red, good head. Resinous and bitter hop aroma, notes of spicy berries. Delicious taste of hops, notes of peaches, good bitterness caressing that is my palate. An IPA of high class!

2009-11-17. Crisp orange amber body with a modest foamy beige head. 3+ Aroma is interesting, leafy hops, notes of herbaceous vegetation. 6+ Flavour is similar with strong vegetation notes to the hops that vary between nice and a bit off putting Pleasant bitterness, odd fruity character. I have tasted something quite similar but can not recall where. Mild resin. Touch of pepper?? No citrus to speak of. Malts are supportive. 6+ Average palate suits it. Perplexing. (Edit - this does not seem much like the beer previous raters describe which is disappointing. Different batch? Old? Who knows) On tap at the brewpub

Draught. At the brewpub. Clear amber-copper with a solid creamy lasting beige head (4-). Dry and leafy aroma, medium roast cereal grain and plenty of bitterness, mostly a slightly funky/floral variety - no alcohol presence at all. Incredibly dry flavour, slightly burnt oily grain, but mostly burnt-bitter leafiness, and man does it last a long time - long, long finish to this one. Average body, very astringent, quite intense on the palate - very solid, but the scorched character wears on the palate a bit after a while - still a solid brew.

My Bottom Line:
Coniferous and leafy hops grace this personable India Pale Ale, as caramelized and toasted grain balance everything out. This is very flavorful and accessible, straddling English and American stylings.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the amber-tinged copper.
-The hops are also citrusy at times, ending up in a levelled resinous bitterness.
-Malts are superbly extracted here, as they are in all of their beers.
-The mouthfeel is nourishing yet quaffable, and moreover superbly polished. This reminds me of Siboire brews (to name another highly professional Québécois brewpub).

On tap at the brewpub.

Aroma is hop and floral. Taste is hops with a good amount of bitterness. Caramel hints with fruit. Very enjoyable.

A few samples at the brewpub- A deep copper, pours a frothy eggshell cap. A hoppy nose consists of fresh leafy greens and floral notes. Pine and citrus meet caramel and rye. Tastes ultra hoppy, with good bitterness. Bublegum and caramel, orange and grapefruit, a bit of pine, Very good overall with good lengthy finish. Merci Larry, Merci Dom!

This was a solid IPA. It had a good citrus hop aroma as well as an intriguing peachiness. This persisted in the taste and was very pleasant. Bitterness was average for an IPA but the peachiness really complemented it. Dry bitter finish. above average

On tap at the brewpub: Medium copper color ale with a small foamy head. Aroma of medium bitter hops with subtle floral aroma. Taste is a nice enough mix between some caramel malt with a finish that includes dry and slightly bitter notes. I though body was also a bit thin on this one with some good carbonation. Not bad though a bit more hop in the profile would have benefited this one.
