Draught at the brewpub. Pours a hazy yellow with a small semi-lasting creamy white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast and grain along with hints of banana, spices and sourness. Flavour’s better, it’s a bit watery but flavourful: Wheat along with light banana, other fruit and mild spices. Average bodied. Pretty good.

My Bottom Line:
This Weizen’s loose and timid flavor profile offers some yeasty dialogue amidst the important cereal presence, but the overall result pales in comparison to the great Bavarian examples.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam surrounds the cloudy blond.
-This does not have your typical Bavarian Weizen nose; the banana esters and bubblegummy phenols tend to get lost in the grainy cereals.
-The flavors are not as cohesive as they could be.
-The mouthfeel is not as full and soft as I would like.
-I must admit I had had a superb Weihenstephaner the day before, so I might be harsher than usual here because this Bouillon just couldn’t stand up to the test. Weihenstephaner is simply perfect, so...

On tap at the brewpub.

On tap at Brasseurs du Temps. The color is a hazy honey with a thin beige head. The aroma is fruity and wheat. The taste is also fruity like bananas yeast. The taste is also dry,it is very refreshing.

2009-11-17. Lightly hazy dark yellow with a small white head. 3+ Pleasant estery aroma, fruit, banana, light yeast and ephemeral not-quite-clove character. Flavour is likewise, fruity esters, wheat, slightly sharp bitterness in the finish, light alcohol presence. 7+ Smooth average plus palate. 3+ Enjoyable, simple. On tap at the brewpub

Draught. At the brewpub. Hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Dry, slightly burnt aroma of cut grass and banana. The taste follows, with lemon added and much less banana ester - not too sweet. Somewhat light-bodied, slightly astringent (which is weird for this style), with a lightning-fast finish - a bit dry, but otherwise a decent, refreshing take on the style, it would be easy to drink in quantity.

On tap at the pub. Superb cloudy golden body with a thin white foamy/creamy head. Good, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty and banana hints. Fresh malty/hoppy taste that ends with a short bittersweet finish. Average Hefeweizen.

At the brewpub - Awesome version of a German Hefe. Cloudy yellow colour with an aroma of banana, spice and wheat. Taste is wheat, spice and yeast. Just wish I was drinking this on the patio during a hot day.

A bright yellow pour that is quite hazy, with a frothy white foam. Nose is a lot of banana, a bit of spice and floral notes, pear, some yeast. But it is really strong in the banana category. FLavour is sweet banana and bubblegum, some yeast and oranges with a bit of pear. Nice and creamy mouth feel, perhaps a bit too sweet but still quite good.
