Bottle - 750ml. Limpid amber body with heavy carbonation and a good beige frothy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma that carries some oaky and brown sugar notes. Taste is well balanced, but lacks strenght and complexity. Ends with a nice bitter, dry finish. Good effort.

My Bottom Line:
This snappy Altbier focuses on its able balance of biscuity caramel malts and earthy, herbal hops, before it takes you to a calculated wooden hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the clear russet.
-The body is lean and maltiness crisp, which I like in the style.
-Black cherry fruitiness is found in the nose’s caramel sweetness, but is not tasted though.
-Very nice throughout, this would make a fine session beer.

Bottle for Bières et Plaisir.

750 ml Clear dark ruby / brown poor with a frothy beige head. Aromas of toast, burnt malts, hops... Light effervescence... Long lasting bitterness with a light creamy slightly sweet finish. Missing a little body to it. Nothing spectacular... but still fairly interesting.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a medium offwhite head. Good aroma of caramel, hops and toasted malt. Very good, balanced flavor of hops, caramel, toasted malt and sucre d’orge, there is mild bitterness in the finish. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and gentle carbonation.

(Rating #748)

Draught at Helm. Not brewed on premises yet, still contract brewed by 3 mousqetaires. Aroma: Malty, roasty, munich/vienna character little to no hop aroma. Appearance: Reddish copper brown with low white head. No belgian lace Flavour: Roasty, strong munich/vienna malt character. Hop bitterness could be more pronounced to bring it more into balance with toasted malt character. Mouthfeel: Meduium light bodied with prickly carbonation Overall: Not a bad altbier at all. Could use some more bitterness to match the toasted malt character but very drinkable nonetheless.
