(Rating #2068)

With thanks to Blankboy, shared with HogTownHarry and I. Appearance: Pretty champagne yellow with a nice clean white head. Aroma: Quite yeasty, wheat and a little cardboard, slight banana too. Flavour: Pretty decent, lots of yeast, some banana, lemon, coriander, fruit, quite a weak body but a nice honest, enjoyable Hefeweizen.

My Bottom Line:
Bready yeast, banana esters and citrusy wheat delineate this Weizen, offering an eminently quenching experience.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam protects the cloudy dark yellow.
-The body is quite comfortable and obviously meant for easy drinking, but I prefer them a tad more pillowy in this style.
-Some clove-like spiciness appears right before the end.
-The prominent citrusy character visits meringue territory when aided by the bready, doughy yeast.

Bottle.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow weizen with some white haze and a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of wheat is dominating and more present hen I first suspected. Taste is also dominated by lots of wheat but is unfortunately lacking in cloves and banana notes. Easily drinkable with no major flaws but lacking some character to make this a standard.

My bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of Viper666. Pours a murky pale yellow with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of wheat, light banana, some sweetness, mild spices, lemon and bready yeast -- smells nice. Fruity, yeasty flavour, perhaps a touch watery, along with lemon, banana and some spices. Average bodied. Quite nice, this is a pleasant beer and it’s underrated in my opinion.

Bottle (341ml). Shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Very pale cloudy yellow, large lasting foamy-creamy bright white head (3-). Hefe-light!! Mild lemon/banana sweet aroma, plenty of yeast. Classic hefe taste, just watered down - lawmower hefe! Light body, faintly acidic from the lemon, quite quick-finishing, a nice fruity aftertaste. Pretty solid - light, but solid.
