This Maibock is a strong blond lager with an aroma of fresh cereals and herbal hops. Its flavor profile develops firm notes of alcohol, a touch of sweetness and a mildly bitter finish.

Clear golden colour, aroma of malt, hop and grains. Taste is sharp alcohol but it doesn’t linger. A nice palate of malt tickles, thoroughly enjoyable beer but nothing amazing.

Clear golden with a fast disappearing head. Nose of fruits (pear?), apricot, some malt in there and a faint hop nose. Crisp attack, medium body, full of malt, I really tasted the mix of pils and munich malt. Finish is a little short and leaves me with mixed feelings about this one. It’s really in between a strong pils and a helles bock, without really hitting the target on neither one of the styles.

Poured a clear amber hue with a quickly disappearing foamy white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty and alcoholic. Prominent flavors are honey with some wheat and malts blended in, followed by the sharpness of the alcohol. Leaves a sticky sweetness behind on the palate; not blown away by this beer but it was enjoyable.

6,29$ for 750 ml. This is in the same category as Rogue’s Dead Guy Ale ? WTF, they are so different... Anyway, this beer seems to have a much higher ABV as it is very boozy and headacheful. Trying to figure out the aroma can become dizzying as you seem to breathe volatile alchool. More enjoyable as it warmed up, as the alchool leaves some place for something sweeter (honey) and becomes a little more herbal hoppy and dry. Probably more enjoyable if taken with two Tylenol caplets. I first thought I didn’t like that one so much but I found myself really enjoying the last warmed up sips.

75 cl bottle. Pilsener hop aroma very herbal and a bit metallic with sweet syrup like pineapple and volatile alcohol. Taste is sweet, pineapple and vanilla with a bitter finish.

750 mL bottle. Bright, sparkling gold, with a film of head. Sharp aroma, with white wine/grape juice up front and herbal hops behind. I’m not terribly familiar with the style, so the flavour was not quite what I expected. It is grainy/grassy, with significant pilsner malt and some honey sweetness. Some alcohol and some noble hops bring something herbal to the finish. Medium body and medium to low carbonation. Surprisingly good.

Bottle. Very thin head. Pepper mellon aroma. Peppery crisp light body. Bitterness and sweetness in the flavour. Enjoyable.
