Sweet, nutty, toasty and warming flavor with notes of dark caramel and coffee. Good dessert beer. Tastes like there was a bit too much dark speciality malts. OliverG (85), montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 25, 2009 750mL bottle from Marche Jovi in Gatineau, 2009 vintage. Pours a deep dark brown, slightly hazy, with a huge tan head. The aroma is very nice, dark and roasty, yet still bready malts, chocomalt, coffee, dark fruits. Very enticing. Flavour starts out intensely sweet, fruit, chocolate, malty to the max but very well balanced in the finish with intense coffee roasty bitterness. Very rich feeling and definitely a sipper. Alcohol is mild but present, lets you know what you’re dealing with. Very satisfying as an after dinner drink, though everything about this beer to me says Baltic Porter. Dopplebock is kind of a loose definition of what this beer is. All in all very well done and extremely tasty. Glad I could find it. Savvy1982 (322), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark chocolate brown with a thick tan head with nice lacing. Nose is almost stout-like, big and roasty, surprisingly smoky, but with a nice fruity sweetness as well. Flavours of chocolate, red fruit, smoke, hung meat, a bit boozy, but still exceptionally nice. Pours a cloudy dark brown body with low carbonation and a huge brown frothy head. Wonderful malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar, yeasty and spicy hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its well balanced taste carries plummy, vineous and some oaky notes. Texture is soft and bittersweet finish is long, robust, warming. Excellent Doppelbock. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden
