Sweet, metallic, sour wheat aroma. Very sweet sugary wheat immediately followed by foul bitter metallic yeast. The soft banana in the background is quite pleasant, however its just overwhelmed by an otherwise not great beer. It is drinkable once you get used to the bitterness. Hazy bright orange with a thin fast-fading white head. Aroma is interesting, wheaty maltiness, orange peel and a soft yeasty doughiness. A bit of sweet peachy character and soft fruitiness on the back. A bit of pepper on the back. Nice beer. Beerlando (2352), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Pours a very lightly hazy, nearly clear orange-amber body. A small fizzy film is all that shows for a head. Sudsy lacing mostly rejoins the body. Sweet candied citrus rhinds are the first element to greet the nose. Coriander, toasted wheat husks, bready yeast, and orange chiffon all follow. There is an omnipresent butterscotch aroma, which could indicate the presence of diacetyl. The flavor is very sweet, with candied citrus and cream playing big roles. Peppery floral hops are spiced with coriander and yeast. The body is on the heavy side of medium and smooth, though somewhat syrupy and sticky. Finishes long, peppery, and somewhat sour. Decent brew, but nothing special. Pours a hazy golden orange with a smaller bubbly white head that left some lacing. Aroma of orange, sweet maltiness, cereal grains, wheat, some banana and clove. Flavor of wheat, toasted and sweet malts, caramel, some orange, banana and clove.
2008 Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden/orange with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of sugary sweet notes, some banana, light clove, some wheat. You can tell this is a 10% weizen. Flavor was much of the same. Getting some cereal notes, Cheerios, on the sweet side, some lemon, light banana and clove. hopscotch (5534), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Bottle… Hazy yellow ale with a large, frothy, white head. Excellent retention. The fruity, yeasty aroma provides esters of banana and bubblegum, moderate clove phenols and notes of bread dough and perspiration. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Medium sweetness with light to moderate bitterness. Banana and vanilla. Restrained tanginess in the finish. Props to mgumby10 for providing the bottle! jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Nice hazy golden coloured body with strong orange tints and a nice frothy white head. Aroma of strong yeast, wheat, coriander seed, hops, apricots and bananas - very nice smell! Medium-bodied; Potent wheat & yeast up front with alcoholic tastes and some fruity flavours following soon behind. Aftertaste is bittered from the hops and yeast, with some slightly metallic twangs at the tail end. Overall, a nice summer wheat - definitely looks and smells nice, and is much lighter than you’d expect from the style! I enjoyed this one and wish I could get more from this brewer around Washington. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago, Illinois on 18-January-2008. thornecb (1810), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Pours orange/amber into a shaker. Fluffy white head quickly recedes to skim surface leaving little/no lacing. Orange and wheat aromas. Thick with orange from front to back and a tingly sour finish. juiceisloose (677), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2008 Poured a cloudy orange color with thin bubbly white head that faded quickly. The aroma was of citrus fruit, spices, and a touch of wheat. The orange and citrus fruit taste come through the most with some wheat carachters as well with a touch of tartness. Medium bodied with some nice carbonation and warm alcohol feeling on the way down. This was pretty refreshing, but not something I would reach for often.
