| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Nov 26, 2007 Pours a clear, golden honey color w/ a tall fluffy froth. Good head retention w/ excelent lacework consisting of sticky track marks, a full fluffy ring and a downy canopy. Aromas of fresh squeezed tropical fruit, aged citrus, banana jerkey, and milk. Full nectar w/ ample residual effers creatng a nice cotton soft texture. Malty citrus fruit balanced by a sturdy peachpit bittering component. Flavors of nectarine, peach, citrus, leather, earth, leafy veggies and herbs, and spicey corriander w/ a twitch of tart. Theres a defined bratty hop that factors in. It’s keeps coming at you even after you walk away from it. The finish is bittered perfectly and I want more, more, more. This brew rocks! Highly recommended. rudolf (1786), Buffalo, New York, USA

Nose is yeast, banana, a surprisingly rich malt character. Flavor is decently rich malt, yeast, earthy notes, banana, clove. A bit of random berry mixed in at the finish. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 9, 2007 Poured a hazy orange with a good sized but quickly diminishing head. The aroma has a little yeasty clove spice and some fruit. Seems more of the caramel malt and less of the wheaty citrus. Some notes of vanilla. The flavor is citrusy orange and spicy from middle to finish. Where the spice really grows at the end. Seems to have a little alcohol pepper to it. Medium bodied and semi-dry. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2007 Bottle: Pours a hazy orange bronze with a thin-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet wheat with some clove and lemon citrus with a hint of vinegar notes. Body starts with a decent sweetness and some doughy yeasty flavor balanced with spicy clove and banana esters toward a semi-dry finish. Could have a little more caramel flavors and a nicer aroma, but otherwise a decent weizenbock. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Pours a lightly cloudy orange with a small white head. The aroma is of orange citrus, sweet cinnamon and some profound tart funkiness. The flavor is of some big orange peel, a little tartness, and some mild wheat characters. The fruitiness is very overwhelming along with some big doses of alcohol which was apparent with the 8%. Not a typical wheat, but I was expecting the big alcohol presence. Interesting, but not special. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2007 A mid-sized cream colored head is steadfast, very creamy, and tops a pretty, multi-hued amber, pulpy ornage body. Thin dot lacing coats the tulip. The aroma is rife with spicy clove, banana peel, bready malts, lighter nuances of vanilla, moderate alcohol, indiscernible spice conglomerations. Lighter fruity notes run rampant with warmth encroaching - apple, guava, berries. Very nice, though it seems a touch bold for a summer wheat beer, imperial or not, as it’s advertised as on the bottle. The flavor has more formidable banana notes and less spiciness. Yeast is bold and sweet. Sweetness is medium-high overall, masking some of the ensuing alcoholic warmth on the way down in a cooling fashion. Mild acidity and very low bitterness lend to a too-sweet, mono-dimensional flavor. It’s tasty, but grows tiresome quickly. Finishes wheaty, semi-sweet, grainy and staggered as it creeps down the throat. The mouthfeel is highly carbonated, lightly sticky, medium bodied, with strange alternating watery pockets and syrupy stints. This is drinkable, but doesn’t hold my attention or beg the next sip. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2007 Appearance: Pours a hazy, orangey-copper body with a small, splotchy white head.
Smell: Immensely aromatic nose jam-packed with notes of bananas and spicy cloves. Dried wheat crackers, some yeastiness, and bubblegum.
Taste: Toasted, bready maltiness with a mild sweetness. Flavors of banana and cloves are strong, as are the notes of citrus peel and bubblegum. Hint of maple. Quite yeasty. Flowery hop character. Finishes wheaty and decidedly sour.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Nicely warming.
Drinkability: Complex and flavorful, but a bit too sweet and boozey to warrant having more than one. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2007 Bottle from State Line. Turbid deep golden/orangy pour with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma is tangerine, clovey spices, hops, bready malt, floral notes, and orange marmalade. Tastes citric, spicy, floral, with mid-palate apricotty notes, plus some late honey and funky notes. Fairly rich, and solidly complex, palate, make this one a diamond in the rough. Very well hidden alcohol also.
