Medium body and lightly carbonated. Smooth bready pale malt flavors with a touch of honey sweetness. Very easy drinking, tough to spot the 8% here. 12187 nuplastikk (1224), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2008 12oz bottle. Hazy orange-tan color. Lemony banana aroma. The body is rich and full. Surprisingly creamy. Displays some nice wheat notes with a crisp and sweet hoppy finish. Finish is smooth and drinkable not unlike other Quebecois beers. Well worth a try. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Bottled. Poured ever-so-slightly hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head and plenty of rising carbonation. The aroma picked up heavy corn and pale malt sweetness initially, with warmer banana notes behind (which I expected to dominate).. brown sugar and a blend of lighter fruits were even deeper (tangerine, pear, and green apple).. not bad, but not what I was hoping for. The flavor followed suit and felt more like a malt likka blended with a tripel than a weizen bock.. pale malts and honey sweetness with some rough alcohol notes, corn husk, and white pepper surrounding.. warm, strong finish. Heavier-bodied with about the right level of carbonation.. dry and spicy on the back-end. This was rather dissapointing. illinismitty (1800), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2008 Bottle from Abe’s in Bethlehem, PA for $3.50. Pours a very tempting murky orange amber with a white head. Aroma of orange, wheat, yeast, and lemon. Medium to light bodied with a fine by lively texture. Flavor tangerine, grapefruit, and pale wheat malts with yeastiness coming forward mid palate. Finish has a short but sharp white pepper bite. You can’t taste the alcohol, but you can feel it down the windpipe. This is bascially a hefe on steroids with some subtle belgian qualities. Not bad, but a little pricey considering the style. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 28, 2008 Killer bigness. Very wheaty, with of all things I wasn’t expecting...coffee... It makes anything else that has weizen bock in its name seem very small. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2008 12oz bottle from Shawan Liquor. Cloudy wheat orange color. Big sticky banana and citrus and wheat in the nose - sugary and heavy. Flavor is oranges, creamed banana (overripe), soggy wheat, finishing with a sugar syrup texture, thick and sweet, but not so much that it’s not tasty. BBB63 (4268), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Bottle and served in weizen glass: Pours a hazy golden hue with a small head and some lace. The aroma has notes of bubblegum, clove, banana, lemongrass, pomegranate, wheat husk, and grassy hops. The taste is fruity, twangy, and acidic over a layer of wheat and pale malt. Moderate spice upon the finish. The mouth feel is sprite and aggressive, sort of metallic finished. Not to bad at all but a touch too acidic to garner a higher score.
