I really enjoyed this beer. Pours a dark amber color with a nice beige-tinted head. Rich aroma flies right out of the bottle after being uncorked; notes of caramel, nuts, molasses and perhaps a hint of woodiness. Flavor is very well balanced, smooth on the tongue...really nutty with roasted malts. Finishes a little dry with plenty of aromatic quality after each sip. Alcohol is disguised very well. Not too familiar with the style but found this beer to be quite a pleasant experience.

Bottled at PBF. Cloudy brownish red, rich but brief head. Caramelly nose withsome red berries behind. Sweet with a tart berryish yeast component. Intense brandy-like alcohol with burnt caramelly malt behind. Salty finish.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Muddy brown with a small, tanned head. Aroma of sourish, lightly vinegary malt, some alcohol, dried fruit. Flavor of licorice, lightly roasted malt, vinegary hints, also dried fruitiness and a touch of alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Maybe slightly alcoholic, but very nice anyway.

Bottled (PBF, vintage 2009). Ruby color, steady small beige head. Caramelly, dark fruits and wheaty aroma. Wineous mouthfeel. Full-bodied. Wheat, caramel, raisins, alcohol. Intensive flavors. Perharps a bit too alcholic almost. Interesting, very different than eg. Aventinus or Vitus.

Deep hazy ruby-tinted brown coloured body with a dense two centimetre tall head of tan, nicely laced froth. Aroma of wheat, caramel, malt, cherries, pit fruits and some nice nuts. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong assertive malty body with wheat, caramel, oak, vanilla and pit fruits very noticeable. Aftertaste shows a lot of malt, some nuts and a good dose of caramel. Overall, a good strong beer with a lot of character and plenty of good complexity. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased at Depanneur Peluso (Bonisoir) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 09-April-2009 sample on 03-July-2009 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

750ml bottle shared by WeeHeavySD vis trade with boutip/ poured dark brown with off white head. very sweet and malty, sightly sticky finish with good carmel notes, not sure how old the bottle was, but it went down very smooth, no hint of alcohol.
