L’arome de malte semble pas assé fermenté, caramel faible. Goùt plutôt simple: malte caramelisé ordinaire. Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Almost no head over a slightly clouded copper body. Nose is brown sugar and caramel. Watery but tasty with malt caramel and some herbs. Tickling sensation on the tongue and cheeks (carbo? Spices?). Complete lack of hop character. Short finish. A simple, very simple beer that manages not to be boring. The King’s Fools used to be more entertaining when it was strictly a man’s thing. radiomgb (2070), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

The aroma is of rich caramel malts, christmas cake, light chocolate, light spice. The flavour was malty (earthy, caramel, some chocolate), woody, some spice, slightly sweet. Dry mouthfeel, meduim body, medium carbonation. Finishes lingering, bitter. Pretty good actually. alafito (334), tijuana, Mexico

Ugly amber golden color, a nice head and excelent lacing. the aroma is of a malty amber lager with very light hops and spices. Flavor is mainly of smoke! Definetly not my style i thaught this was a rauchbiere until i logged into r.b. The background is of a spicy, malty red amber ale and the foreground is all smoke and some chocolate. Coudnt realy taste the spices and herbs. Long watery finish. Thumbs down for me. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Poured slightly hazy orange-amber with a tiny white head. Some caramel malt in the aroma, oddly and funkily spiced, slightly yeasty, a hint of wee heavy dry petrol. Taste - OMG, there’s the wee heavy - dry, oily malt, funky spice - fairly long finish for a mostly-malt brew. Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, dry and a little watery - but I like the wee heavy style, so intentional or not, thumbs up. Thanks, turg! Fish (439), Kure, Japan

This is not a very spectacular ale. But it is a spectacularly gimmicky ale. I’ll give it that. Also found this one in the supermarket near my hotel in Montreal. gilvanblight (397), Windsor, Ontario, Canada
