| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottle thanks to HogtownHarry- A hazy orangey pour with a generous creamy off white foam. Leaves a bit of spotty lace. Aromas of mild smoked malts, tropical fruit, banana, spices, clove. An earthy flavour profile has smoke malts, a sweet fruitiness, with banana, and apricot, a bit of spice. Very creamy, well balanced, quite drinkable. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Excellent stuff. Thanks Harry! Boutip (2369), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2009 Bottle consumed 24 months after its release: Poured a light golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt is quite sublime with no traces of smoke. Taste is dominated by great caramel malt with hints of dry fruits; smoke has totally disappeared and been replaced by some complex malt. Body is quite full with great carbonation and no signs of alcohol. Not the beer I was expecting but I must admit that this has turned extremely well. TheJester (712), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 28, 2009 750 mL bottle aged 18 months. Light copper in colour with a fluffy head and some fine sediment. The head doesn’t last. Smells exactly how you’d expect a smoked weizen to smell, with the distinctive elements of the smoke and the weizen. Very unique flavour; it’s a weizen, but hte smoke hits strongly about halfway thru, then fades a bit. This one may work better if the base weizen were a little meatier. Body a little thin, and carbonation is low (perhaps due to the aging?). french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2008 750mL bottle purchased from, where else, Marche Joanette. Purchased in February, consumed on Father’s Day in June. It seems to have held up just fine. Pours a nice cloudy light-to-medium gold with quite a bit of carbonation. Aroma is a bit light, but is smoky and wheaty. So far, so good. The flavour is very nice. The smoke is present throughout the taste, neither light nor over-the-top. Less wheaty than a typical wheat beer. Less smoky than the Aecht Schlenkerla. But it all comes together very nicely. I wish there were more examples of this style available.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Orange-copper in colour, very quickly dissipating white head, lots of visible carbonation, little to no lacing. The aroma is lightly smoky, mildly sweet, some wheat, yeast and olives for whatever reason. The flavour is smoky, light sourness, wheat and yeast. Sour-smoky mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with some lingering smoke.
This was only 6 months old when I opened it so I’m not really sure why there was so much sourness in this. I was hoping for something a little better from this brewery.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2008 light caramel pour, with little to no head. Aroma is odd, whiskley malt smokiness, very mch like the unibroue raftman. Some fruit like apples, and pears, i’mnot getting any banana like other ratings, i’m actually getting some brett funk in the aroma. This is quite odd. Flavour is smokey like whiskey, but very very subdued, but quite enjoyable. And the bretty funkyness finishes it off. Its like a mix of a smoked, a touch of belgian, with the fruity easters, and the touch of yeast, and a sour ale with the brett. Now i know there isnt any brett in here, so its odd, maybe cause it’s only a 5% beer, it is a little on the old side, i guess its turning sour, but its foor the good! if you can find some go get some!
