Bottle consumed 24 months after its release: Poured a light golden color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt is quite sublime with no traces of smoke. Taste is dominated by great caramel malt with hints of dry fruits; smoke has totally disappeared and been replaced by some complex malt. Body is quite full with great carbonation and no signs of alcohol. Not the beer I was expecting but I must admit that this has turned extremely well.

750 ml corked bottle. The pour produces a clouded honey colored beer with another massive sticky cap that laces the glass. Aroma of smoked biscuit malts, spices and fruits, some woodyness and musty tones. Profile: Smoke is present but does not dominate there is ample earthy grains, spoiled fruits and leafy-woody hops in almost perfect balance to make this a wonderful 3 dimensional experience...lightly drying finish with a light smokey-biscuit aftertaste. Creamy mouth feel, ample body and a perfect balance of smoke-malt-hops. I’ll take this over Schlenkerla any day for drinkability and balance. Another German style carried off authentically but well by this great Quebec brewer.

Thanks to Glouglouburp. The beer pours with a beautifully thick head, that just has nowhere to go, sticky-ichy lacing. The color has almost no clarity with a dark, dark golden color, almost orange territory. Still some visible carbonation. Looks great!!!!!! Aroma is light clove, light orange, minimal smoke - almost mineral like actually and definitely a heavy wheat beer. Taste has barely any smoke but full of wheat flavors like the aroma but not overwhelming. Very hefty for a wheat beer, in body. Has a lowered carbonation and the body is softly on the cheeks. Finishes with what can be considered the most un-smokiest smoke and no bitterness. Basically, one would have to starve oneself for a week to get any smoke flavor but still a very nice beer. 750ml, Brooklyn/Schneider Hopfen-Weisse Weizen glass.

750mL bottle purchased from, where else, Marche Joanette. Purchased in February, consumed on Father’s Day in June. It seems to have held up just fine. Pours a nice cloudy light-to-medium gold with quite a bit of carbonation. Aroma is a bit light, but is smoky and wheaty. So far, so good. The flavour is very nice. The smoke is present throughout the taste, neither light nor over-the-top. Less wheaty than a typical wheat beer. Less smoky than the Aecht Schlenkerla. But it all comes together very nicely. I wish there were more examples of this style available.

The pour reveals a cloudy, peachy golden color with a thick, creamy white head. At first sniff, smoke ham smacks me in the face, I like that, then some weizen characteristics get noticed, wheat and bubble-gum. The flavor has a luscious wheat cornucopia with smoked ham and bubble-gum, it’s very good, very round. The body is medium to full with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. An impressive achievement, this brewery keeps on releasing good beer after good beer, keep it going guys!

Bottle thanks to my festivus master: Pours a hazy amber golden color with an off white head. Aroma, smoky, light fruits, wheats, and spices. Flavor, light smoke and bacon notes, wheat and some fruits.

Bottle thanks to HogtownHarry- A hazy orangey pour with a generous creamy off white foam. Leaves a bit of spotty lace. Aromas of mild smoked malts, tropical fruit, banana, spices, clove. An earthy flavour profile has smoke malts, a sweet fruitiness, with banana, and apricot, a bit of spice. Very creamy, well balanced, quite drinkable. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Excellent stuff. Thanks Harry!
