Sep 17, 2008 (Bottle). Roasted malt and chocolate aroma, slightly sweet. Beautiful near black color, and a substantial reddish brown head. Flavor is very roasty, with plenty of malt complexity, some coffee, chocolate, and hints of ripe fruit. Lingering bittersweet chocolate finish. Excellent.

Sep 17, 2008 Bottle: Poured a clear black color lager with a nice medium brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee with some light roasted malt. Taste is also dominated by light roasted malt with some distinctive dry coffee notes. Body is slightly thin form the style with some good carbonation. Well done and something I wouldn’t mind having on a regular basis.

Sep 9, 2008 Verre de dégustation, provenant d’un fût, dégusté au festival Bières et Saveurs 2008 (Chambly, QC). Arôme: Légère odeur de torréfaction et de chocolat. Apparence: La couleur est noire opaque. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de torréfaction avec une pointe de caramel fruité et de chocolat. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement crémeuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de café en arrière goût. (Rating #1924)
