| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 20, 2004 Copper hue, light haze, big off-white head leaves an impression on the glass. Malty aroma reminiscent of overbaked cookies, green foam you see on the rocks in a forest and just foresty altogether (notes of cedar, earthy hops). Good mouthfeel, rather crisp carbonation, quaffable light-medium body. Enough hops to balance the sweet nutty malt. Something made me say rubber in the aftertaste’s astringency and after that "insight", I found light notes of it in the aroma also. It’s more of an effect of their unclean yeast, but still takes away from the already subdued enjoyment. Poor. MartinT (5075), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Apr 2, 2005 The Lure: A gleaming ochre with scant head prone to lacing produces a subdued aroma of sweet malt and bready yeast.
The Festivities: Decent caramel oranges are overshadowed by a dirty yeast, strangely more boastful in the colder temperatures. A lovely full body softens the finish and leaves but a light residual hop bitterness with barely any distinct flavors, if not a few sketchy flowers. Pleasantly drinkable if not for that yeast, but fails to make me want to drink more than what I have in my glass.
Transcendence: A little too much powder on the face mars the natural beauty beneath. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Soy, balsamic vinegar, cedar, sawdust in the challenging aroma. Deep amber-brown with generous tan head that lasts. Strong, sharp hops are unpleasant. Quite bitter and not enough malt. Acetic. Strong, prickling carbonation and fairly thin body. Bottle. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Bottle (341ml). Via trade with Iguenard. Poured slightly hazy amber with a decent foamy diminishing head.Aroma of light roast malt, sweet grain - okay, mostly malt, not vegetal. Taste is quite metallic - lightly malty, corny grain, harsh quick finish - extremely watery mouthfeel, dry, not much carbonation - just fair, seriously lacks body.
