750ml bottle, dark amber color, with a big fluffy tan-colored head, sweet malt nutty nose, with a bready dough and some biscuity malts, with fruity note of dried sultanas, some toffee, caramel and nutty aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet malty, grainy, biscuity character, with some toffee, nutty, fruity raisiny accents with a subtle nutmeg spiciness, with a faint floral note, leading towards a malty, lingering hoppy finish.

Poor is clear copper with red hue and a thin foamy off-white head with small lacing. Aromas of earth, lots of fresh hops, hints of ginger, burnt caramel, cinnamon and cloves. Very complexe aromas... Interesting indeed. Explosion of flavors and very impressive for a 6% brew. Added flavors of spruce beer, black cherries and pomegranate... Full bodied and nicely effervecent. Nice balanced overall a great beer!

750ml Corked and Caged bottle via in person hand off trade with Glouglouburp, thanks Dany. Pours a really beautiful amber orange with a puffy tan head that faded some while I was entering the details. The nose is rich, malty and sweet, which suggest a really nice tasty marzen under in the glass. The taste is really nice and robust, sweet, malty and full of a nice caramel hue. I’ll admit I enjoy German beers but they are not my favorite, this is very good and is one of the better examples of the style I’ve had.

750 mL bottle from Trappe a Fromage, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. OC16/07

App.: Clear, deep amber, fair off-white head. Aroma: Pleasant light malts, slightly nutty, a bit of caramel and toffee, light earthiness, minty-ish herbals. Palate: Medium body and medium-ish carbonation. Flav.: Estery, caramel and toffee, some biscuit/bread, light nuttiness, some piney and herbal hops, light fruitiness; slightly sweet, a little bitterness, a little malt on the finish and a slight tang.

PROSSIT. Nice job, guys.

The look: Clear amber body with a small beige head.
The style: Oktoberfest
The conclusion: True to the style and maybe the best one I’ve ever had.
The stuff: Cake malts and doughy yeast. Genuine german lager feel. Oktoberfest beers sometimes come with spicy and/or fruity flavours. This one is as little spicy as they come but exhibits delicious fruity notes. The doughy cake-ish body and fruity notes remind me of a fruity yogurt cake (red fruits mix). The medium grassy/peppery hops presence doesn’t completely balance it off but that’s not the goal here. Very very satisfying. Every year the Trois Mousquetaires Oktoberfest has been a new beer with a new recipe and every year it got better and better. But now I think it is has good as it can be given this limited (imho boring) style and shouldn’t be tweaked anymore. You need to learn to stop pushing when you reach the top of the mountain otherwise you just fall on the other side.
The how: 750ml Bottle, fresh.

On tap somewhere in Montreal, St. Bocks? I think. This one was a very pleasant suprise because I usually find Octoberfests overspiced. Poured a deep reddish/amber with an average size off white head, well as best as I could tell in the dimly lit bar was that it was off white. Aroma of spice, bready, lots of malts and sweet. Flavor was even better lots of complexity with layers of biscut, dark fruit, toffee, malts that has a pleasant swetness to it. I could of drank this all night but there more brew pubs to explore and shenanigans to be had.

750ml corked bottle: This is one of my favorite styles so indulge me while I fawn over this fine example. The Look: Color and cap are perfect to style: glowing red-amber orange lightly hazed with a massive frothy off-white cap that lasts and laces up the stein. Aroma: Big Munich malt breadiness over woody-herbal nobles, very subtle spiciness some earthy notes..perfect nose to this. The delivery: Big chew on fat double decocted bready- toasty malts in the front...boarders on sweet but not ... but by middle this gets balanced with the herbal-woodiness of long boil Hallertau and spalters, some earthy tones ad to the toasty smooth character...finishes long and clean but damp with maltiness and hops in near balance...great toasty-bready after taste. Rich, satisfying, smooth and drinkable...all the prerequisites for the style....many are called but few deliver a real Bavarian fest marzen but it was done here...again. LTM...you guys rock!!

2007 series. Beautiful orange hue, clear, nice head and lacing. Strong and a bit odd hop aroma, but the flavor is a nice balance of biscuit, malt, hops, fruitiness, and a touch of caramel. Nice malty body, and nice spiciness in the finish. Overall: extremely easy drinking and a nice beer, but the aroma is a little funky.
