Glouglouburp (1915), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 4, 2007 Was called Eve Aux Pommes at Saint-Bock and was labelled Witbier on the menu. Almost clear yellow-blonde body with a small white head. It takes a lot from a cheap bastard like me to abandon a paid pint after only a few sips but it was the case with this beer. The apples flavour and the beer don’t blend together, they clashed together. Like someone has poured apple juice or a cheap cider in a regular blonde ale. The mouthfeel was terrible with an unpleasant over-carbonated juicy feeling. I know there’s a market for that type of fruit-juice-beer but to me this is even a notch below a Minot Mystique Cider (popular cheap cider in quebec). Trois Mousquetaires was on a roll lately releasing good beer after good beer. Don’t know what happened here, like if the brewer went for a perfecting internship at Breughel. I’m sure they’ll bounce back.
