Bottle from the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/quebec/g target=blank>La Trappe à Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec. Copper/bronze in colour, dissipating off-white head, still looking. The aroma has caramel malt upfront, some sweetness and alcohol which is a surprise considering this is only 5%. The flavour has notes of wheat, some caramel malts, light sweetness, light fruit. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a moderate lingering bitterness.

Bottle. a pretty Red-Orange Amber color with a mostly diminishing head and a medium body with cloudy clarity. A moderate aroma of straw, resin, nuts and molasses. Fruits present grapes and apricots. The yeast is light and soapy. It finishes lightly sweet and salty and leaves a chalky sensation in the tounge.

Reddish amber, not much head. Sharp mouthfeel. Malty aroma and flavor. Not too much to say about it.

Bottle (341ml). via trade with Iguenard. Poured hazy amber-orange with a foamy-creamy off-white diminishing head. Smells of lightly toasted malt, grain, orange, apricot and grape, dry mild/stale hops; on the sweet side. Taste is .. soft and mild, follows the nose, light fruit, malt and hops - pretty bland, but session-ish. Mouthfeel is watery, flat, quick nothing finish - smells okay, otherwise weak - on the plus side, it goes down like water so you could put six away in no time.

All for one and one for all? Right? Wrong. This beer deserves to be left to rot in the lowest dungeon, tortured by cardinal Richelieu and the rest of the Spanish Inquisition. Like the Folle du Roi, this is a superlatively gimmicky beer, which doesn’t pack a very interesting taste at all.

341 ml bottle. Clear amber color (going to orange). Metallic aroma. Low carbonation. A little bit sour. There is a little bit of preservatives in this beer.

This is a brown beer. This beer is simple, but the flavor does it all. Good beer and cannot wait until the festival de la bière de montréal to see other product from this brewery.

Bottle: put a copper-red lager in the flute with a 1 finger frothy tan cap. Light carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma subdued but you get spices, sweet bread and some herbs. Mouthfeel is slick with a medium body. Flavor is defined by a sweet caramel toffee maltiness and some dried fruit and nut tones from yeast byproducts... then that is equally balanced off with a lush herbal-pine hop mixture. Finish gets slightly bitter with a great bready sweet aftertaste. I think what the brewer was after here was a genuine traditional Vienna style and he got half way there with the choice of malts and yeast but the hops are too prevelent to make this a true Vienna...and that is too bad because I like this beer for its great malt profile however with the higher hop bittering it comes off more like a light Munich dark than a Vienna. A Vienna should be sweeter in the finish with the hops more attenuated...still a good drink by any standard though.
