Caramel malt in the aroma and also in the flavour. Nicely balance with fair bitterness . Beautiful bitter finish yet sweet. I have had this beer on several occasions and it is getting better all the time.

I sampled this bottle with Eric the other night… we were both a bit taken back by how sweet and malty this beers aroma and flavor was. Brought me a sweet caramel flavor with bold toffee suggestions. Very fruity: plumes, and raisins, pancake syrup… some chewing tobacco. Nutty, hazelnut and walnut a in full effect! Very malty, little hops to be found maybe some slight lemongrass in the finish. Palate was nothing unordinary…. Nice beer!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2005 Bottle... Clear, copper lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Dark fruit, black tea, light molasses and light chocolate are blended perfectly in the nose. The flavor is full of dark fruit, black tea, toffee and orange blossom honey. Medium-bodied and oily with mild carbonation. Finishes bitter-sweet and lightly dry. Thanks goes out to Matta for sharing. GonZoBeeR (2162), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

The aromas are mainly caramel malts, with a bit of herbal hops and a lagerish kick on the back end. Flavors are those of caramel and toasted malts with a bit of husky grains creaping in on the finish. Solid and drinkable, but unspectacular. Thanks Lubiere! muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 18, 2005 341 ml bottle. Clear reddish-orange with the faintest of white foam-caps...indistinct toffee-chocolate nose is pleasant when you can get anything...bit of sourness hits at first on the tongue, quickly fading to a caramel sweetness and light toasted malt, perhaps a hint of almonds and orange. Tol’ble.
