Bright amber color, soft foamy head, but falls quickly, spiny, nutmeg, toffee, nutty grain and caramelized aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate, with clean caramelized malt, a nut accent, grainy, roasted character in a fruity light hops finish.

Bottle - thanks to Eyedrinkale for the trade. Pours clear reddish copper color with a small off-white head that diminished rapidly to a ring of bubbles. Aroma is smooth caramel-malty with subtle floral and earthy hops. Flavor is nice and drinkable, sweet in a robust lagerish kind of way with a good hop bite - nothing too remarkable though. Light body and pleasant carbonation.

Achetée au Dep. Lechasseur, Beloeil. Robe cuivrée foncée. Carbonatation correcte, mousse timide. Arôme forte de levure et des notes de mélasse. Quoique maltée, l’amertume tranchante mais sans finesse emporte tout. Peu intéressant.

Bottle thanks to Eyedrinkale. Clear copper color with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Malty aroma with some nice caramel notes. Unfortunately the flavor didn’t live up to the aroma. Starts off fairly nice with a good maltiness and a bit of caramel, but a strong metallic aftertaste was a let down. I’ll keep in mind that this beer is probably much better fresh and it was still enjoyable.

Nice copper body topped with a thin off-white foamy head. Its malty aroma has unusually strong nutty notes. Taste is well-balanced and refreshing, but it lacks complexity. It ends with a decently bitter finish. Drinkable...

Bottle. Fully diminishing small white head. Copper colored body. Vegetable, caramel, molasse? and a bit toasted grains aromas in my nose. The flavors are more interesting then the aroma. Your expectation could be quite low when smelling the beer. Hints of munich and caramel malted grains that contributes to an initial sweetness/maltness. Still some sweetness toward the end but nicely balanced with fair bitterness. Too light bodied beer for the style (or according to my taste) still some kind of mouthfeel, too soft carbonation. Too bad, both the aroma and the watery body makes this beer less interesting even though I can see the potential of something (especially in the flavor profile), still need a lot of work I guess...

(Bottle) Pours a medium, white, creamy head with a highly-carbonated, roange body. The nose and flavour is mildly malty and muted hops. Rather over-carbonated and club soda tasting for me...

This company now sits in the same location as Bièropholie. I went there looking for impy stout and calumet and walked out wondering if Bièropholie was out of business. The owner/brewer had worked for Unibroue as well as a few other places, a real cool guy. On to the beer. I was really hoping this stuff was as good as the beers that probably flowed through it’s veins at one point in time. Both beers especially this one are very good. For a Vienna, excellent. Just the right maltiness. Just a mellow hoppiness and a lot of grains in the flavor.
