This company now sits in the same location as Bièropholie. I went there looking for impy stout and calumet and walked out wondering if Bièropholie was out of business. The owner/brewer had worked for Unibroue as well as a few other places, a real cool guy. On to the beer. I was really hoping this stuff was as good as the beers that probably flowed through it’s veins at one point in time. Both beers especially this one are very good. For a Vienna, excellent. Just the right maltiness. Just a mellow hoppiness and a lot of grains in the flavor.

Belle couleur, brillante, belle mousse. Rafraichissante, amertume intéressante, goût intéressant de caramel, notes fumée. Rondeur moyenne, longueur moyenne amère et fumée.

Bottle... Clear, copper lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Dark fruit, black tea, light molasses and light chocolate are blended perfectly in the nose. The flavor is full of dark fruit, black tea, toffee and orange blossom honey. Medium-bodied and oily with mild carbonation. Finishes bitter-sweet and lightly dry. Thanks goes out to Matta for sharing.

Pours copper red. Thin head on it.Strong aroma of Vienna malt. The flavour is rich and fruity, malty and sweet. With a slightly citrus hop finish. I think this is a very good beer.

Thanks to EyeDrinkAle for sending this one stateside!

I sampled this bottle with Eric the other night… we were both a bit taken back by how sweet and malty this beers aroma and flavor was. Brought me a sweet caramel flavor with bold toffee suggestions. Very fruity: plumes, and raisins, pancake syrup… some chewing tobacco. Nutty, hazelnut and walnut a in full effect! Very malty, little hops to be found maybe some slight lemongrass in the finish. Palate was nothing unordinary…. Nice beer!

Bright amber color, soft foamy head, but falls quickly, spiny, nutmeg, toffee, nutty grain and caramelized aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate, with clean caramelized malt, a nut accent, grainy, roasted character in a fruity light hops finish.

(341 ml bottle). Nice copper light brown color with a rather long lasting creamy head. Caramel malt in the aroma and also in the flavour. Nicely balance with fair bitterness . Beautiful bitter finish yet sweet. I have had this beer on several occasions and it is getting better all the time.

Solid beer as far as Vienna lagers go. Toasted caramel malts, a tinge of dryness, and some dry fruits. Revealing more flavor as it warms. On par with Eliott Ness.
