| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 28, 2009 750 in Schlenkerla glass. Slightly different label than shown. Dark brown with lasting dense head and lace. Smoky grassy caramel aroma. Rich smoky grassy caramel with lingering toasty caramel. Soft creamy mouthfeel and fine carbo. If I brewed a beer, I would hope it to be like this. Awesome. Just shy of Schlenkerla itself. GodOfThunder (874), Orlando, Florida, USA

Pours a deep dark brown with medium tan head, decent lacing. Aroma strong of smoked malt, smoke, slight chocolate, and not a lot else. Flavor is as advertised and makes for a nice enjoyable brew. It’s smoked, it’s beer, and it’s good. JesseM (668), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Pours a deep dark hazy brown with a small white head. The aroma is really quite simple, smoked malts to the max, BBQ, not much else actually. The flavour has your same basic smoked malt aspects, roastyness, very tasty. Kind of light on the palate with no sign of booze and it’s super drinkable. I think I drank my glass in about 15 seconds and I had a decent sized sample. Another solid German styled beer from this Quebecois brewery, and I’m very appreciative of their efforts, kudos (I wish I could get their stuff ALL the time). Nothing too bold or complex, just nicely done Rauchbier. matt7215 (972), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2009 Bottle. Black pour with tan head. Good aroma of smoke and bacon, flavor is smokey/salty/bacon. The palate is kind of watery so the feel isn’t all that great for something with such a nose. I don’t know this style very well but this is good. after4ever (2773), Brier, Washington, USA
