Edition 2008. Vraiment une tres bonne biere, avec une amertume et arome de houblon qui torche la ligue! Wow! 2008 edition. A very good beer, with an impressive hops bitterness and aromas. wow!

750ml bottle, and it’s from the 2008 release. Very dark pour, very very dark. When i hold it up to the light i can see through the very nice dark mahaogany. There is a nice beige head, and some good lacing. Aroma is loaded with bready malt, and some nice smokiness, and a good dose of hops. The flavour is very nice, lots of chewy malts, and a good dose of hops, there is some nice hop spiciness, and the finish is quite bitter, it leaves a nice hoppy tatse in my mouth.Wow, i’m loving this!

350ml corked bottle Decanted a deep reddish-brown hazey ale into the stein. Wonderful billowy 3 finger sticky cap that lasts and laces Aroma: Wunderbar! Almonds, bread, woody earthyness, a light musty-sweetness. Profile: Toasty, nutty, rich thick malts..full bodied and a rich mouth feel...like liquid toasted walnut bread smeard with a leafy herbal-woody marzipan...totally non cloying...finishes with the ample noble hops drying the flavor out with a sharp wet birch wood bark tone as the dark malts leave a light pucker...bready herbal after taste. Rich, deeply flavorful, satisfying and outrageously drinkable...perhaps that is the secret of this "Sticke" Probably this brewer’s best effort ..an Alt to die for...hope it’s available again...I’ll buy cases next time.

Bright mahogany. Lots of caramel, toast and hop in the nose. Hoppy, with lots of caramel. Dry and leafy, with light toast.

Clear dark amber pour. Immediately toasty, nutty malts appearing in the tight nose where a hefty dose of hops are felt, but not necessarily the most aromatic types. In mouth though, they thunder (for an alt) with grassy, leafy, sandy nuances. Beautiful hops with enough bitterness to feel coherent with the relatively thick malts that manage to avoid the trap of sweetness. So superb malts, remarkably dry, yet flavourful. Tight and coherent bittering hops. Clean profile all through with perhaps more sandy bitterness than I would have expected, but globally: Oulala! I would have expected better scores. This is a winter in Düsseldorf and at the moment, I don’t think any other brewer in Quebec could pull so authentic and good an interpretation on a strong alt.

Mais où donc le brasseur a-t-il déniché cette recette? Sacré Jonathan... Une Alt coriace, sans compromis... Mais qui passe pourtant si bien! Si elle était disponible sur une base régulière, ça serait probablement ma bière de soif. Mais c’est là la beauté de la série signature des 3M: savourer le moment présent!

5,99$ for 750ml, 2008 version, dumbly-store-aged; I saw it cheaper although I’d pay even more for this one. No wonder it scores so high in the style! Powerful fruit hop aroma. Very tasty, malty sweet and hoppy bitter, long grapefruit bitter aftertaste. American-style hop that has more power in the taste than I remembered from last summer (aging?). I’d really like to try the 7,2% 2007 version if I could find it... This Alt is climbing here...

750ml bottle courtesy of glouglouburp. Pours brown with a red hue and a nice tan head. Smells of spice, wildflowers, soap, straw, some earthy hints. Tastes of molasses, a hint of chocolate, lots of spice, some fruity notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied. Complex and very enjoyable stickbier!
