Commercial Description:
Also known as our Vigilante Alt Bier the Fire Tower is a well balanced, medium bodied amber ale with a subtle yet complex malt character and an aromatic hop finish. We are confident once you try this amber it will become one of your favorites.

lightly hazy amber, medium white head, nice lace. mostly air in the nose, with a hint of sweet malt. not much flavor, sweet, perhaps the merest hint of roastiness. light bodied, dry finish. pretty pedestrian, not bad, but not very interesting either. thanks to rayboy01 for the sample.

Bottle from RAYBOY01 at Flossmoor’s X-IPA Mug Club tapping. Hearty amber color. A light malt smell that doesn’t make itself known in the big mug I poured it in. A good mild beer taste, though; some slight caramel malt. Good dinner beer.

Thanks to RAYBOY01 for the brew - It pours a light amber body with a modest white head. The aroma was sweet with orchard fruit and thin caramel. Light-bodied, it was sweet without much flavor and absolutely no hops. I’d probably rate it higher if they didn’t claim this to be an Altbier.

An altbier...come on! This amber has almost no hop presence at all, it is very thin-bodied and watery, it has almost no character or personality. About the most complimentary I can be is that I did not find it egregiously offensive at all.

Bottle courtesy of kyzr. Pours light brown with a white head. Smells of perfume, wildflowers and caramel. Tastes lightly bitter and spicy with a tarte splash on the finish.

On Tap @ The Brewhouse, Helena: Not much aroma here, a lighty nutty malt; the flavor is lightly toasty with a slightly dry finish, no hop charactor to speak of.
