A light malt smell that doesn’t make itself known in the big mug I poured it in. A good mild beer taste, though; some slight caramel malt. Good dinner beer. The aroma was sweet with orchard fruit and thin caramel. Light-bodied, it was sweet without much flavor and absolutely no hops. I’d probably rate it higher if they didn’t claim this to be an Altbier. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 26, 2008 An altbier...come on! This amber has almost no hop presence at all, it is very thin-bodied and watery, it has almost no character or personality. About the most complimentary I can be is that I did not find it egregiously offensive at all. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
