(Bottled@Kerstbierfestival 2007, Essen) Muddy dark brown with a small and lemonadey, but quite lasting head. Interesting aroma of oranges, anise and some smoke. Sour and cinnamon-spicy flavor with some maltiness and low bitterness. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated and acidic palate. Not very clean, but pleasantly tart.

Draught @ Kerstbierfestival 2006 in Essen, BE. Dark amber brown color with a good off-white head. Aroma off coriander, licorice, yeast and small nots of sulfur. The flavor was very acidic with a sour finish. Ends very bitter and sweet.

My last glass at a long and enjoyable day at the Kerstbierfestival -- and one of my favorites from the day. Dark amber brown, not opaque. Aroma of caramel, cinnamon, and is that licorice? Lovely, midly sour acidity like sparkling white grape juice. Maybe a touch of citrus and cider, stronger in finish. Damn tasty.

Draught. Hazy brown coloured, small off-white head. Sweet yeasty aroma, with hints of dark fruits. Full sweet yeasty taste. Finish is bitter sweet, some clear alcoholic touches. Strong and special.

Draught and Bottle: Poured a dark brown with light brown head. Aroma was yeast and spicy. The flavor was very citric and sour, finished a dry burn. The bottle was little less citrus.

Chestnut brown with a good off-white head. Aroma is yeasty with some liquorice and caramel. This is reflected in the rich flavours, which is also somewhat herbal. The spices (or the yeast?) makes the beer drier, balancing the rich liquorice sweetness. Full-bodied, medium carbonation. An extraordinary Wallonian amber ale.

Dark ruby, good tanned head. Nose has chocolate, berries and a bit of brandy. Very carbonated. Chocolate, roast, roast and hints of metal in the flavor. Sweetish aftertaste.
