(Draft: Liberator Brewing in Troutdale, OR) Fruity and moderately hoppy and citrusy nose is pretty light, but somewhat enticing. The flavor is just as light, though, mildly grainy and malty, mildly sweet, with a bit more hops for a slight balance toward the bitter end of the spectrum. Once the bitterness sets in, the overall impression is somewhat hoppy and bitter, but this is far from a hop bomb. Reasonably clean and crisp, and light-to-medium bodied. Pale golden color is pretty light, and it’s slightly hazy in appearance. Off-white head fades to a ring like all their other beers, and a few traces of lace stick to the glass. A kind of blah IPA, but at least it has a nice hop profile.

Hazy gold with a creamy head and good lace. Herbal nose with some citrus fruits and bitter hops. Bitter rolls out with a vengence. Some perfume and floral hops as well as a little note of malts. Finishes bitter with an acrid palate.

Cloudy yellow, bright and a little sour with a soapy nose of tile cleaner. Good bitterness, but a sour popcorn and butter flavor.

Cloudy gold-orange; nice lace. Creamy and smooth on the tongue. Lightish, with bread-dough-flavored malts. Hops were earthy, grassy, and slightly herbal. Medium bitterness. Not bad, but I liked the Liberator (reg.) IPA better.

RBSG 2004: Cloudy orange crisp grapefruit aroma, starts lightly bitter and gets a bit more bitter. Smooth and soft with a medium body.

(RBSG04) Hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel. Taste is fairly sweet, floral/grapefruit, caramel, not especially bitter. Very light carbonation, medium body.

Tap. Pale appearance. Not very strong compared with their ordinary pale, but it is similarly off-balance. Kinda buttery and I didn’t enjoy it too much.

Light golden color with good head retention & moderate lacing. The aroma has lots of fresh hoppiness with a little maltiness, sweet & good. The flavor has a low bitterness compared to the aroma but still well made. Finishes full bodied, dry but refreshing.
